REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article . 3.1.1 Sandwich panel, larqe. One 4-ft (1.219-m) by 8-ft (2.438-m)* aluminum face honeycomb sandwich panel- fabricated
19、 in accordance with the requirements specified in 3.3.1 and Drawinq No. 80A5022A0071 shall be subjected to the panel shear test in 4.8.1 and shall be subsequently cut into smaller specimens for other panel testinq (see 4.8.2 and 4.8.5). 3,1,2 Assemblies. When specified in the contract or purchase or
20、der, the joininq corridor shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials. Materials shall conform to the requirements specified herein and in Data List DL80A5022A0004. 3,3 Desiqn and construction 3.3.1 Sandwich panels, -Sandwich panels shall be fabricated and inspect
21、ed in accordance with the appropriate materials and process specifications listed in Data List DL80A5022A0004 and as follows : 3.3.1.1 Sandwich panels and material. The followinq material requirements are the minimum necessary to insure the joininq corridor fully meets all requirements stated herein
22、. 3.3.1.1.1 Sandwich panel shear strenqth. The adhesive bond between the panel facinqs and core shall be sufficient to allow the core to work to its failinq shear stress. sandwich panel shear strenqtlj at normal temperature (75 f 5OF) shall be 80 psi (551,584 N/m ) in the T direction parallel to the

All edges of aluminum faced 3,3.10 Bolted and riveted connectors. Bolt and rivet holes shall be accurately punched or drilled, connectors shall have
42、 the burrs removed. Washers, lockwashers, nuts and screws shall be tight. Rivet heads, when not counter- sunk or flattened, shall be of uniform size and shape for the same diameter rivet, concentric with the rivet holes, and in full contact with the surface of the members. 44、ale, paint, qrease or other foreiqn matter. Weld penetration shall be such as to provide transference of maximum desiqn stress throuqh the base metal juncture. Fillets shall be as specified on the applicable drawinqs. 3.3.12 Castinqs. Castings shall be sound and free from patchinq, misplaced corinq,
45、 warpinq or defects which miqht render the castinqs unsound for use. 3.3.13 Seals. Seals shall be installed so that the fit within the retaininq track is snuq and continuous contact is maintained with matinq seal faces. Mitered end junctions of vertical and horizontal seal runs shall be accurate, an

The joininq corridor when erected and with doors cosed and removable panels installed shall withstand rain- fall up to and includinq 5 in per hour (in/hr) (127 millimeters per hour (mm/hr) without leakaqe at any location.
48、 Testinq shall be in accordance with 4.8.7.1. 3.5.2 Temperature-humidity. In storaqe, the joininq corridor shall be capable of withstanding exposure to temperatures of -7OOF (-56.7OC) to 160F (71.1C). In transit, the joininq corridor shall be capable of withstandinq exposure to temperatures of -65OF
49、 (-53.9OC) to Tb60F (71.1OC) with personnel access at low end of ranqe. shall be -65OF (-53.9OC) to 125OF (51.7OC) plus solar load (see 3.5.8). The joininq corridor shall withstand daily exposure of up to 97 percent relative humidity for 20 hours and exposure of 100 percent relative humidity (with condensation) for. 4 hours.
