8、ay be 3.3 Design and construction.- 3.3.1 Design.- The seats shall be designed for maximum comfort, mnimum weight, minimum over-all dimensions in both normal and folded position, interchangeability, and shall permit quick installation and removal. 3.3.2 Dimensions.- The outline dimensions of the sea

22、ence, until notice of approval has been received from the activity responsible for qualifica- tion. 3.9 Workmanship.- The seats, including all parts and accessories, shall be con- structed and finished with good detail and highquality workmanship. 4. WfiTrP ASSURANCE PROVISIONS b.1 Classification of

23、 tests.- The inspection and testing of the seats shall be classified as follows: (a) Qualification tests: Qualification tests are those tests performed on samples submitted for approval as qualified products . (b) Acceptance tests: Acceptance tests are those tests per- formed on individual lots whic

24、h have been submitted for acceptance. 4.2 Qualification tests.- 4.2.1 Sampling instructions.- The Qualification test samples shall consist of one seat of each design 01 modification. Samples shall be identified as required and for- warded to the activity responsible for qualification, designated in

25、the letter of author- ization from that activity. (See 6.3.) 4.2.1.1 When approved by the activity responsible for qualification, the Qualifi- cation tests may be conducted by the seat manufacturer. 4.2. Tests.- The Qualification tests shall consist of all the tests specified under Acceptance tests

26、and, in addition, the following tests. 4.2.2.1 Ultimate load.- The seat shall be mounted in a suitable jig or fixture by utilizing the normal tie down provisions.
