4、y to employ data processing equipment during the development and engineering cycle of these systems. Input data and output documentation were designed to extend procedures already established for the production of * Automatically Processed Wire Lists (APWL) and Automated Wiring Diagrams, It is not t

5、he intent of this document to dictate the nature of inputs to the computer, nor to restrain these inputs, However, when economics and size of wiring data preparation tasks justify, it is intended that Running (wire) Lsts * and Pictorial Wiring Diagrams, as applicable, will be pre- pared by (ADPs) Au

6、tomatic Data Processing System in accordance with the instruc- tions given in this document. The outstanding feature of automation is speed with accuracy. This feature is apparent not only in the production of drawings and diagrams, but is reflected throughout the entire manufacturing complex and in

7、 support and field maintenance operations. Some of the more apparent advantages of automatically processed wiring data and diagrams are: (a) Simplified maintenance procedure resulting in decreased training time for maintenance personnel. (b) Decreased cost of producing and maintaining (corrections a

8、nd revisions) engineering drawings. (e) Decrease in errors committed and attributable to reading wiring diagrams by engineering, production and maintenance personnel. (d) Simplicity and ease of printing and maintaining HMFs (Handbook of Maintenance instructions) in current status. The contents of th

9、is standard represent the initial effort in this area of documentation. It is anticipated that the contents will be augmented and revised as it progresses through the various phases of the coordination cycle. Comments by users of the standard, industry or Government, are requested; and are, indeed,

SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This standard covers the minimum requirements for

13、the preparation of Tabulated Wiring Data Lists and wiring diagrams produced by auto- matic data processing equipment, or manual means. 1.2 Application. The requirements of this standard apply to Tabulated Wiring Data Lists and wiring diagrams furnished to the procuring activity under contractual dat

14、a requirements. Where requirements of other specifications or standards conflict with requirements specified herein, the requirements of this standard shall apply. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 3.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on the date of invita- tion for bids, or request for proposal

Information arrangement, clarity and format of data shall be designed for readability of information compatible with intended use. 3.2 Legi

20、bility and reproducibility. Data produced in accordance with this standard shall meet the legibility, contrast and reproducibility requirements specified by the Procuring Activity for ADPs types, and MIL-D-5480 for manual types. 3.3 Abbreviations, Abbreviations shall be in accordance with MIL-STD- 1

21、2 and shall be used where they are required by space limitation or where they will improve clarity and readability. When other abbreviations are used, they shall be explained by a suitable note or reference. 3.4 Security classification. The security classification shall be shown on all documents req

22、uiring a security classification. The security classifications for printouts shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-100. 3.5 - Form. Technical wiring data supplied in accordance with this stand- ard shall be in the form of Tabulated Wiring Data Lists and associated pictorial wiring diagrams. 3.6 Functi

23、on. Tabulated Wiring Data Lists and Pictorial Wiring diagrams shall indicate features and relationships of electrical and electronic components, wiring, assemblies and systems by means of organized and compiled data. They shali be developed specifically for ease of producing, maintaining and interpr

24、eting electrical wiring data. 3.7 - Status. Tabulated wiring data lists and pictorial wiring diagrams shail have the status of engineering drawings and shall conform to the applicable requirements of MIL-STD-100. 3.8 Wiring data presentation. Complete wiring information shall be presented in combina

25、tions of running (wire) lists and graphic wiring diagrams. Except as specified in 4.3.5, information contained on the running (wire) lists and graphic wiring diagrams need not be duplicated. All information may be presented in either a running (wire) list or graphic wiring diagram. 2 Provided by IHS

Where practical aU data shall be prepared by Auto- matic Data Processing Systems (ADPS) or computer-printing devices. When it is more economical

27、or practical to prepare tabulated wiring data lists or wiring diagrams by manual means, such means may be employed providing the end result complies with the requirements of this Standard. 4. PRINTOUTS 4.1 Sheet size, The size of sheets produced by ADPS or a computer- printer may be any size conveni

28、ent for normal machine operations, Sheets sub- mitted as required data SU be a size in accordance with MILSTD-100. 4.2 Character size. Normal character size of computer-printing devices is acceptable. Sheets re-sized by a reproduction process to meet the requirements of 4.1 shall be legible. 4.3 Gen

29、eral format. The general format for Tabulated Wiring Data Lists and graphic diagrams shall conform to MIGSTD-200, Engineering Drawing Format, as applicable. Additional or variant requirements unique to Tabulated Wiring Data Lists shall be as specified herein. 4.3.1 Title sheet. Format of the title s

30、heet shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-100. If a separate record of revisions is included in a separate section of the drawing, the lfdescriptionll block of “Revisions“: shall reference that section. 4.3.2 Preface sheets. In those wiring data lists where the in- formation is greater than can be presented or, a single line, in separate columns, or, more than one type of information is to be printed on a single sheet (i.e., Wire Records, Parts Lis

35、t Records, etc. ), the space allocations for the data columns may be superpositioned. Superpositioned headings shall be provided on each sheet, as required, and shall be adequately defined In the general notes when the use of the superpositioned headings is not clearly evident in specific applicatio

In those wiring data lists intended to show the attach- ment of all wire segments as an accumulat

37、ion of all items of equipment, the informa- tion pertaining to each wire segment shall be shown in two complete records. One of these shall be clearly designated as reference information. Alternately such data lists shall be headed with a title which clearly states that double entry records are cont

38、ained therein. Double entry reference records shall appear only in those data lists where they serve a useful purpose. 4.3.6 Numbering and coding. Numbering, coding and identification proce- dures shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-100, Numbering and Coding of Engineer- ing Drawings, Associated Lis

40、 5.1 Method of preparation. Revisions shall be documented in accord- ance with MIL-STD-100. Revisions may be entered manually or by ADPS. 6. DATA 6.1 Wiring information. Wiring information shall be presented in accordance with USAS 14.15-1966. Associated drawings, such as Parts Lists, shall be made

41、in accordance with MIL-STD-100. characters which have been found suitable for operating ADPs and should be used as a guide in the preparation of data. 6.2 Data field sizes. 43、TATION 7.1 Content. The following information should be typical in producible documentation. Titles shown herein are intended to be descriptive. Titles used for data presentation shall be in accordance with MlL-STD-100, Drawing Titles. Several data compilations may be accumulated into one or more do

Figure 1 is an example of a typical wiring diagram in conven

45、tional form. Figure 2 illustrates the same information in wiring data list form. The columnar arrangement of Figure 2 is recommended for wiring data lists submitted in response to the require- ments of this Military Standard. Wire List - Area. Wiring information within pre-designed sections of a sys

46、tem or deliverable hardware item. (A module in this context shall be the equivalent of an Area.) Wire List - Cable or harness. Wiring information pertinent to each cable or harness. Wire List - Parts. Wiring information pertinent fa each part required for a major deliverable hardware item arranged a

47、lphanumerically by part identifiers, Reference designations shall be the part identifiers. Wire List - Wire Number. Wiring information pertinent to all wires required for a major deliverable hardware item or system, arranged alpha- numerically by wire identifier. This list may be one consolidated li

48、st or sub- accumulations of wire number Wormation which, in aggregate, list all wires required. Wire List - Sequence Path. Wiring information pertinent to ail wires in a major deliverable hardware item or system arranged by wire identifier in sequence path order. Sequence path order shall be the ord

49、er of the wire numbers traversed in tracing current paths through electrical/electronic circuitry from power source toward ground. If this form of Tabulated Wiring Data List is sub- mitted as required technical data in lieu of wiring diagrams, all information essential tn the tracing of circuits shall be included, conveniently arranged for its intended use and thoroughly explained.
