18、on trucks and drain racks shall be fabricated in accordance with the design and construction characteristics as specified in this specification and Figure 1. Combination trucks and drain racks shall consist of structural steel frame, cross braces, nose pieces, pipe handle, axle, and wheels. The fram
19、e, related structures, and all their joints shall provide a rigid unit structure. Completed com- bination trucks and drain racks shall be capable of withstanding, without permanent deformation, stresses induced by capacity loads and tests as specified in Section 4. 3.2.2 Frame. -The frame shall be f
20、abricated from commercial grade, structural steel angles and black steel pipe, as shown in Figure I. The frame and cross braces shall be made from 1 112 by 1 1/2 by 3/16 inch angles. 26、3.2.5 Axles and spacers. -Each combination truck and drain rack shall be provided with a 3/4 inch diameter, cold rolled steel axle, 17 inches long, and a 3/4 inch diameter, black steel spacer or sleeve, of a length sufficient to retain the wheels approximately 11 3/8 inches apart on centers, Axles,

29、 be required. 3.4 Performance 3.4.1 Maximum load. -The combination truck and drain rack shall show no permanent deformation or failure following a static test under 200 percent of rated load, or 1,800 pounds, for a period of 1 hour. 3.5 Other requirements 3.5. 1 Bearings. -Bearing load capacity, inc
30、luding applicable safety factors, as rated by the bearing manufacturer, shall be equal to or greater than maximum bearing loading under normal truck and drain rack operation, 3.5.2 Grease fittings. -Grease fittings shall conform to the manu- facturers normal commercial practice, 3.5. 3 Steel fabrica
31、tion. -All edges shall be smooth, rounded, and free from burrs or jagged edges, 3.5.4 Welds, -Welded joints shall be sound; smooth; free from pits, holes, fissures, and rough projecting edges; and shall be thoroughly fused to the base metal.
