SCOPE a 1.1 Scope. This specification covers three types of sodium salts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). 1
3、.2 Classification. EDTA shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2): TYPES Type I - Tetrasodium EDTA Type II - Trisodium EDTA Type III - Disodium EDTA 2. The sodium salts of EDTA shall be white, granular
15、 powders. Type I, the tetrasodium salt of EDTA, shall be Na4EDTAe4H20 (C10H20012N2Naq). Type II, the trisodium salt of EDTA, shall be Na3EDTAa3H20 (C10H19011N2Na3). Type III, the disodium salt of EDTA, shall be Na2EDTAS2H20 (C10H18010N2Na2). 3.3 Composition. 3.3.1 Type I. The tetrasodium salt of EDT
16、A shall contain a minimum of 83.2 percent tetrasodium EDTA as active ingredient, The water (H20) content shall not exceed 15.8 percent. Other organic and inorganic impurities shall not exceed 1.0 percent of the total. The composition shall be determined (see 4.5). 3.3.2 Twe II. The trisodium salt of

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible fo
25、r the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
26、disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet a
27、ll requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring
28、that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of the manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of know
29、n defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: (a) (b) First article inspection (see 4.3). Quality conformance inspection (see
30、 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection, First article inspection shall consist of the tests specified in 4.5 (see 6.3), 44 Quality conformance inspection. 31、oduced as the result of a single manufacturing process. 35、manner as that used for type I. 4.5.2.2.2.3 Tpe III EDTA. Type III EDTA sample solutions shall be titrated using fresh standard 0.1 M sodium hydroxide solutions in a 50-mL buret. The volume of base volume needed to reach the inflection point shall be determined as follows: (a) (b) Sufficient data ar

40、 5.1.1 Navy fire-retardant reauirements. (a) Lumber and plywood. When specified (see 6.2), all lumber and plywood (including laminated veneer material used in shipping container construction members, blocking, bracing, and reinforcing) shall be fire-retardant treated material conforming to MIL-L-191
41、40 as follows: Levels A and B - Type II - weather resistant. Level C - Type I - non-weather resistant. Category 1 - general use. Category 1 - general use. (b) Fiberboard, When specified (see 6.2), fiberboard used in the construction of class-domestic, non-weather resistant fiberboard and cleated fib
