REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials.- Materials shall be as specified in 3.1.1 through 3.1.6. Materials not specified sh
7、all be in accordance with the materials requirements of MIL-T-0023991. 3.1.1 Metals.- Metal parts shall be of a corrosion-resistant metal or shall be treated to resist corrosion under the environmental conditions specified in 3.3. 3.1.1.1 Parts constructed of aluminum alloys shall be hard coat 3.1.1
8、.2 Exposed steel parts shall be satin-finish chrome plated, pnodized in accordance with MIL-A-8625, except for springs. 3.1.1.3 Brass .parts shall be satin-finished and then coated with clear epoxy or cldr exterior acrylic lacquer, or satin-finish chrome plated. 3.1.2 Wood.- Wood shall be of select
9、grades of hardwood suitable for clear finishes. Wood shall be seasoned, free from checks, splits and crossgrain or seasoning defects which may cause warping. 3.1.3 Glue,- Glue shall not be affected by moisture, lacquer, 7 paint, or migratory solvents of plastics used in components, including the dus

MIL-T-29027A 69 W 999970b 0387050 3 - 3.1.5 Plywood.- Plywood shall have a minimum of 5 plies or solid core, both surfaces to be of hardwood, all plies to be free of spaces or checks and joined by moisture-resistant glue. 3.1.6 Plastic cementing.- Contact surfaces of plastic pieces t
12、o be joined shall be machined or sanded. Wherever possible, a cushion surface shall be developed on one contact surface. Cement solvents shall be used as recomnended by the manufacturer of the particular plastic used and tested by the contractor for each specific application to conform to the requir

It shall be capable of illustrating vertical motion of the control piston. The training aid shall clearly depict air, condensate, and flash steam presence within the valve,
15、 as well as flow of air-condensate- steam mixtures through the valves at various times in the operating cycle, 3.3 Reliabilit .- The training aid shall be designed for a useful classroom 4 i e o hours per week for a period of not less than 5 years. Reliability shall be a prime consideration in the d
16、esign and manufacture of the training aid. The design shall be such as to result in reduced require- ments for adjustments or alinement. The training aid shall be constructed so no fixed part shall become free and no moving part shall become loose or sluggish in operation. Degradation shall not be c
17、aused because of shipment, normal handling in a classroom use or storage. The training aid shall be designed for storage and transportation when under ambient conditions of temperature ranging from -5 to +125 Fahrenheit, relative humidity ranging up to 95 percent, and still be capable of meeting the
18、 specification require- ments. 3.4 Constructtlon.- Construction shall be in accordance with processes requirements of MIL-T-0023991, and as specified in 3.4.1. 3.4.1 Breakage and deformation.- The training aid shall be constructed from impact-resistant plastic or other suitable material, (see 3.1.4)

21、om binding in structural and mechanical parts, to insure free and easy operation of all moving parts of the training aid. 3.6 Details of components.- The training aid shall consist of the (a) Steam trap section (b) Control mechanism (c) Base (d) Dust cover. fol lowing major components: 3.6.1 Steam t
22、rap section.- The steam trap section shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in 3.6.1.1 through 3.6.1.3. 3.6.1.1 Component identification.- Components of the steam trap section shall be 1 abel ed. 3.6.1.2 Main support.- Components of the steam trap section shall be mounted on a transp
23、arent acrylic panel with transparent acrylic end braces. 3.6.1.3 Colors.- Colors for steam trap section components shall match the colors specified by the procuring agency. 3.6.2 Control mechanism.- The training aid shall include a lever for manually operating the control piston. The control mechani
24、sm shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in 3.6.2.1 through 3.6.2.4. 3.6.2.1 To moire the control piston up, the control lever shall be shifted up. be shifted down. 35、 all parts and accessories, shall be + constructe and finished so that all components when assembled shall be accurately alined and inherently strong as a unit. Particular attention shall be given to neatness and thoroughness in the machining of parts and assemblies, finishing, and freedom of parts
36、from burrs and sharp edges. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection.- Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. specified, the supplier may utilize his ow

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and

Except as otherwise 4.2 Inspection.- The training aid shall be subjected to the following inspection, consisting of the examinations and tests specifed in 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, to determine compliance with the requirements of this spec- i fi cati on. 4.2.1 E

42、 each training aid shall be preserved and packaged fornical and physical protection in accordance with MIL-P-116, Metho III. 5.1.2 Level C.- For Level C preservation and packaging shall conform to the manufacturers comercial practice. 5.2 Packing.- Packing shall be level A or C as specified by the p
43、rocuring acti vi ty . 5.2.1 Level A.- Units packaged in accordance with 5.1.1 shall be packed in exterior containers conforming to PPP-B-621 C1 ass 2, or PPP-B-601 , Styles A or B with steel banding. The gross weight shall not exceed the weight lim- itations of the shipping container. Each exterior
44、shipping container shall effect water resistance in accordance with MLL-L-10547.
