Unless otherwise specified herein, all -equipment, material, and articles incorporated in the “products,covered by thisspecification shall be new and may be fabricated using materials produced fromrecovered materials to the maximum extent practicable with

24、out jeopardizing theintended use. The term “recovered materials” means materials which have beencollected or recovered from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of rawmaterials, as opposed to virgin raw materials. None of the above shall beinterpreted to mean that the use of used or rebuil

25、t products is allowed under thisspecification unless otherwise specifically specified.3.4 Construction. Unless otherwise specified herein, valves, valve partsand construction features and parameters shall “conform to ANSI B16.34 (see 6.3 andappendix B).3.4.1 Pressure temperature ratins. The design a

26、nd pressure temperaturerating shall be in accordance with ANSI B16.34, except the maximum allowabletemperature for composition D shall be 775 degrees Fahrenheit (“F). Pressure sealvalve shall be constructed in such a manner as to permit repair bythe use ofoversize ringsANSIbuttwitha71with3.4.2 End c

27、onnections. End connections shall be inaccordance withB16.34, flanged, socket welded or butt welded for the standard valves andwelded only for the special valves. Butt welding ends shall be compatiblethe appropriate pipe schedule end preparation (see 6.2).3.4.3 Flanges. Flanged end valves shall have

28、 flanges that are compatiblethe corresponding mating flange for face preparation, number and size ofbolts holes and pressure rating (see 6.2).3.4.4 Drains and bv-Dasses. When specified (see 6,2), a drain or by-passshall be furnished and located as specified in 3.4.4.1 through 3.4.4.5 andANSI B16.34.

29、 A drain shall consist of anipple and drain valve. A by-pass shallconsist of connecting lines and a by-pass valve.3.4.4.1 Size Standard drain and by-pass sizes shall be as shown in table.II. The location of dra

31、ins and by-passes shall be specifiedby referencing the letter designation in ANSI B16.34 of the desired bosses.Bosses shall be sufficient distance away from seating area to allow welding ofreplacement by-pass line without damage to valve seat. When nonstandard locationsare required, a drawing shall

32、be furnished by the user indicating the desiredlocation. Threaded boss connections shall not,be used.3.4.4.3 Root connections. Drainand by-pass line connections shall bewelded to the boss in the valve body in accordance with MIL-STD-278. Materialsfor these lines shall be as follows:(a) Composition A

33、 - ASTM A 335, grade P22.(b) Composition B - ASTM A 335, grade Ph.(c) Composition C - ASTM A 106, grade B.(d) Composition E - ASTM A 312, grade 304 (UNS 30400) or grade 316(UNS 31600).3.4.4.4 Bosses. Bosses shall be cast or forged integral with the bodyasspecified (see 6.2). Construction and dimensi

34、ons of bosses shall be in accordancewith ANSI B16.34, undrilled. Forged valve bodies with wall thickness inaccordance with ANSI B16.34 may have bosses built up with weld filler materialselected in accordance with MIL-STD-278. Such bosses shall be liquid penetrantinspected and stress relieved in acco

35、rdance with MIL-STD-278.3.4.4.5 Valves. Drainand by-pass valves shall be in accordance withDrawing 803-5184193, 803-2177525, or 803-1385965.3.4.5 Water wav diameters. Water way diameters of valves shall be inaccordance with table 111. Documents of water ways in classes and sizes notlisted in table I

Handwheelactuated, welded end type valves shall not exceed the maximum weights listed intables IVand V. Weights are

39、 based on valves with welded ends and do not includeweights of drains, by-passes, actuators, and so forth. Weights of valves inclasses and sizes not listed in table IV and V are not required. The valveweights in table IV are for class 600; 900, 1500 and 2500 cast gate valves, weldedends. The valve w
