2、nts and Agencies of the Defense Department. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification establishes the performance, design, and test requirements for the Control Valve. The control valve is a solenoid-operated, normally closed valve used in military aircraft to control gas flow from the LAU-7 launcher t

13、ticle sample shall be manufactured using the same mthods, materials, processes and procedures proposed for production. Any production prior to acceptance of the first article sample is at the contractors risk. 3.2 Selection and quality verification of parts and materials. Quality verified parts (see

14、 3.2.11 and materials from approved sources (see 3.2.2) shall be used in the fabrication of the end item. The contractor shall prepare test reports of conformance to appl icabl e requi rements and make them available for the procuring activity (see 6.2.2) 3.2.1 Approval of parts and materials. Parts

15、 and materials proposed for use in the Pabrication of the end item that are not specified in detail herein or in applicable referenced documents shall be selected from other documents in the order of precedence specified in MIL-STD-143 and shall be approved by the procuring activity rior to use (see

16、 6.2.2). Approval shall be predicated upon source (vendor P approval and verification of part quality by test. 3,2.2 Source a roval. The contractor shall be responsible for ascertaining that eac 4 propose source for parts and materials maintains a quality control program to ensure consistent del ive

17、ry of products conforming to appl icable requirements. When parts or materials are fabricated by the contractor, the area used for that purpose shall be considered the same as an outside vendor insofar as source approval is concerned. Source approvals by the contractor shall be subject to concurrenc

18、e by the procuring activity. Source approval will be granted by the procuring activity upon preparation of acceptable evidence of any of the following (see 6.2.2): a. Formal on-site survey of the vendors manufacturing facilities. b. The source has been previously approved, and evidence is available

19、to confirm that acceptable product quality has been maintained. c. Other evidence of acceptable product quality is available. 3.2.3 Verification of part quality. Quality verification shall be demonstrated by successful testing of the part to levels of environmental, electrical , and physical stresse

20、s equal to or greater than those which will be encountered in the system and as required by the part specification. Part quality may be demonstrated by any of the following: a. When he part is manufactured and qualified to a military specifi- cation which includes requi renients equal to or more sev

21、ere than those of the end item application. b. When the part is manufactured and qualified to a military specifi- cation not including all requirements of the application, and additional tests for such requirements have been performed. c. When the part is not qualified to a military specification, b

Reports

24、of all quality verification testing shall conform to the requirements of MIL-STD-831. activity information as to the status of quality verified parts and approved sources which may have been previously deve1 oped. Neither part environmental tests nor part environmental test reports are required in t

25、hose instances where vendors are selected from current AS/QVPLs of other programs. Entries on the AS/QVPL shall identify the vendor and the product which is proposed for use in the control valve by the contractor. In the event several sources have previously been approved for the application, the co

27、d shall be supported in 3.2.4.1 Conditions governing the quality verification of parts. When the contractor proposes to demonstrate the quality verification of parts, as provided herein, the fol lowing provisions shall apply: a. Test may be performed by the contractor, utilizing his own facilities,

28、the facility of the manufacturer of the part or by any other suitable facility selected by the Contractor. In any event, the facilities shall be approved by the contractor prior to the performance of any test. This information shall be made available to the procuring activity for approval (see 6.2.2

29、). Prior to the performance of any test, a detailed test procedure shall be prepared by the contractor and made available to the procuring activity for approval (see 6.2.2). The procedure shall identify, as a minimum, the step by step functions to be performed and the test equipment to be used, and

30、shall provide for full conformance with the provisions of the applicable documentation* The Government reserves the right to review any of the individual test procedures at its discretion. Quality verification testing may be monitored by a representative of the procuring activity. b. c. 3.2.4.2 Chan

Proposals by the contractor for part substitution or changes to the AS/QVPL shall include proof that the proposed substitute part will meet the requirements of 3.2.2 and 3.2.3. Evidence of poor quality may be cause for suspension or removal of a source from the AS/QVPL at the option of the contractor or the procuring activity (see 6.2.1). The contractor shall develop quality verified sou

The procuring activity shall be notified prior to delivery of any parts incorporating any such c

35、hanges and be provided quantitative evidence of the effect of such changes on the performance or other characteristics of the control val ve. h. When there is evidence that the quality of the part has not been maintained. This evidence may be in the form of accumulated failure reports which indicate

36、d that the quality of the part has deterioriated, or there is a failure trend. c. When the manufacturer has not produced the item for six or more months. 3.2.5 Part conformance provisions. When a drawing or specification for a part invokes by reference the provisions of a military specification, tot

37、al conformance to the provisions of the referenced specification shall be required. Total conformance is defined as conformance to the stated performance and product characteristics, and compl lance with al 1 qual i ty assurance provisions, including qualification, quality verification, and qual i t

38、y conformance testing. 3.3 Design and construction. The design and construction of the control valve shall be in accordance with MIL-S-4040 and with DL 58A164D810 and as specified herein. The contractor shall notify the procuring activity of any changes in design and construction of the control valv

39、e which occur after it has been accepted by the procuring activity (see 6.2.2). 3.3.1 Materials. Materials shall be selected on the basis of strength, workability and compatibility with other materials in the item so as to minimize galvanic action, corrosion, etc. Materials used in manufacturing the

40、 solenoid shall be in accordance with MIL-S-4040. 3.3.2 Finishes. Finishes shall be applied to all materials, whenever appl icab-leshall be for the purpose intended, such as corrosion resi stance. 3.3.3 Filter. The control valve shall be provided with a filter which will prevent particles 5 microns

41、or larger from entering the assembly, 3.3.4 Weight. The weight of the control valves shall be not greater than two pounds. 3.3.5 Interchangeability. All control valves having the same part number shall be interchangeable. Change in part numbers shall be governed by drawing number requirements of DOD

42、-D-1000. 3.3.6 Identification of parts. All control valves shall be marked as spec! fi ed i n DL 58A164D810. 3.3.7 Dimensions. The control valve envelope dimensions shall be in accordance with t he applicable drawing for the control valve being procured. 5 O Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduct

The control valves, when constructed in accordance with DL 58A1640810, shall meet the requirements specified in 3.4.1 through 3.4.7. 3.4.1 Power requirement. The contro

44、l valve shall perform as required under all applicable conditions specified herein from a 28 VDC source except that the control valve shall be capable of operating over a range of 17 to 30 VDC measured at the solenoid input. The current drain shall be not greater than one ampere at 28 VDC and 25 k 5

45、“ C ambient. 3.4.2 Pressure requirements. The control valve shall be capable of specified operation at any pressure from 15 to 3800 psig. 3.4.3 Operating time. The solenoid shall open or close the valve in less than one second after appl ication of 17 VDC. 3.4.4 Pressure drop. The pressure drop thro

46、ugh the valve shall be not greater than 100 psig with an applied pressure of 2800 psig and a flow rate of 28.3 liters per minute (one cubic foot per minute). 3.4.5 Adaptability. The control valve shall be capable of functioning with 2O misalignment with the seal valve, part number 58A164D859, axis.

47、Misalignment shall be in any direction. 3.4.6 Leakage. The control valve shall not leak in excess of two cubic centimeters per minute when subjected to input pressures between 200 and 3800 pounds per square inch gage (psig) with the solenoid deenergized. 3.4.7 Attitude. The control valve shall be ca

48、pable of functioning in any atti tude. 3.5 Cleanliness. The control valve shall be free of all water, oil, grease, and foreign matter exceeding 0,002 inch in size on all surfaces. 3.6 Proof pressure. The control valve shall not be damaged and shall operate as specified after being subjected to 5000

49、psig. 3.7 Burst pressure. The control valve shall not be deformed or show physical damage after being subjected to a burst pressure of 6709 psig for a duration of at least 30 minutes. 3.8 Environmental. The control valve chal 1 meet the following environmental requirements of MIL-STD-810 un1 ess otherwise speci fied herein. 3.8.1 High temperature. The control valve shall operate as required during and after the test of MIL-STD-810, Method 501, Procedure I, except the temperature
