This specification covers t

2、he requirements for a digital computer designated as weapons delivery computer (WDC) for the AN/ACB-19 (V) Angle Rate Bombing Set (ARBS). 1.2 Classification. This specification makes provisio

In the selection of parts and materials, fulfillment of major design objectives shall be the prime

24、consideration. In so doing, the following shall govern: Microelectronic technology shall be considered and microelectronic items shall conform to requirements specified herein. Other parts and materials requirements shall conform to Specification MIL-E-5400. Nonrepairable subassemblies shall be used

25、 in accordance with Specification AR-10 and as outlined in Specification MIL-E-5400. When previously produced models of this equipment did not use nonrepairable subassemblies, the design shall not be changed to employ nonrepairable assemblies without the approval of the procuring activity, Transisto

26、rs and diodes shall be chosen and applied as outlined in MIL-STD-454, Requirement 30, except JAN TX grade shall be used. 3.2.1 Nonstandard Parts and Materials Approval . Approval for the use of nonstandard parts and materials (including electron tubes, transistors and diodes) other than microelectro

27、nic devices shall be obtained as outlined in Specification MIL-E-5400. 3.2.2 Microelectronic Modular Assemblies. When used, Microelectronic Modular Assemblies shall meet the requirements of Specification AR-5. Conformal coatings, encapsulants, embedments or potting materials used with modular assemb

28、lies containing integrated circuits and discrete parts shall be easily removable without damage to the assembly. 3.3 Design and Construction. The equipment shall conform with all the applicable requirements of Specification MIL-E-5400 for design, construction and workmanship, except as otherwise spe

29、cified herein. 3.3.1 Total Weight and Dimension. The total weight of the equipment, excluding cables, shall be a minimum consistent with good design and shall not exceed 46.5 pounds. The dimensions of the digital computer (DC) and computer converter-interface unit (CIU) shall be as specified on the

31、7 (AS) 3.3.2.1 Operational Stability. The equipment shall operate with satisfactory performance, continuously or intermittently for a period of 1800 hours without the necessity for readjustment of any controls which are inaccessible to the operator during normal use. 3.3.2.2 Operating Life. The equi

32、pment shall have a total operating life of 10,000 hours with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts. 3.3.2.3 Reliability in Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). The equipment including any Built-In-Test provisions, shall have a specif ied(eg:MTBF of 1800 hours when tested and accepted as outline

33、d under the requirements of 4.3.2. The minimum acceptablejI3,LMTBF shall be 900 hours. 3.3.2.4 Calendar Life Limit. The contractor shall identify all items that change significantly with age .(have a calendar life limit that would fall within a 10-year period) and whose change would degrade the reli

34、ability of the equipment. This effort shall be coordinated with the limited life/age environment control requirement as specified in the contractors quality program. 3.3.2.5 Failure Classification. Classification of failures shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-781 and MIL-STD-2074, 3.3.2.5.1 Failure

35、 Definition. A failure is defined as follows: a. b. Any unplanned maintenance, adjustment, or alignment Failure to provide the performance specified in 3.4. which is inaccessible to the operator. c. Excessive wear or damage of mechanical components in accordance with the contract requirements. 3.3.2

36、.5.2 Failure Reporting. The contractors failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system shall apply to failures experienced on each subassembly and end-item during tests performed in accordance with approved test procedures. Failure analysis and corrective actions shall be inclded in the co

37、ntractors failure reports and shall be submitted to the procuring activity in accordance with the contract requirements. 3.3.2.5.3 Failure Analysis. The contractor shall perform failure analysis on all failures reported to the procuring activity to the in-depth level required to define the failure m

38、echanism and to develop corrective actions to limit their recurrence. a physics of failure analysis on electrical parts. The analysis of parts shall typically include electrical failure verification, dissection, microphotography, and adequate chemical and metallurgical analysis to define the failure

39、 mechanism (e.g., most fundamental cause; metallization corrosion). Records of failure analysis, including causes and effects, In general, the analysis shall include -6- 1 . 40、ll be maintained by the contractor with data feedback to reliability and related design analysis functions. 3.3.2.5.4 Corrective Action. The contractor, in conjunction with failure analysis, shall develop and implement effective corrective action to limit recurrence of the failure mechanism and its

41、effects. Corrective action for those failures reported must be approved by the procuring activity. that the contractor has performed the following: Approval of proposed contractor corrective actions requires a. Analytically or by test established the effectiveness of the corrective action to the sat

42、isfaction of the procuring activity. b. A schedule for the introduction of the above corrective action. No individual deliverable articles for which failures are detected in acceptance tests shall be released for delivery to the procuring activity until the failure reporting and corrective action pr

43、ocess has been initiated. 3.3.3 Cabling and Connections. 3.3.3.1 Cables and Connectors. The equipment shall provide for the use of cables and connectors in accordance with Specification MIL-E-5400. 3.3.3.2 Interconnection Cabling. The equipment shall be capable of satisfactory operation using extern

44、al wiring in accordance with the applicable requirements of Specification MIL-W-5088. 3.3.4 Interchangeability. The equipment shall meet the interchange- ability requirements of Specifications MIL-E-5400 and MIL-1-8500, 3.3.5 Interference Control. The generation of radio interference by the equipmen

45、t and the vulnerability of the equipment to radio interference shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-461, Notice 3. 3.3.6 Maintainability Provisions. The maintenance concept for support of the equipment shall be compatible with the existing ARBS Maintenance Plan, AVMP-184. Maintainability features,

46、 built-in-test features, construction, provisions for test points, and other maintainability parameters specified herein, shall conform to AR-10, with the stated exceptions and clarifications specified herein. shall be established to enforce and report on the maintainability requirements of this spe

47、cification. A maintainability program in accordance with MIL-STD-470 3.3.6.1 Fault Diagnosis. Fault diagnosis at the organizational mainten- ance level shall be accomplished using Built-In-Tests (BIT) and displays. Intermediate level fault diagnosis and BIT shall. be accomplished using ground suppor

Test points shallbe provided on the equipment for intermediate and dep

49、ot levels of maintenance. The test points shall be compatible with the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) designated and planned for Fleet use. able, all hardware shall have sufficient exposed or accessible test points to permit use of standard Navy test equipment (oscilloscope, VOM, VTVM, etc.), to permit, in the event of weapon replaceable assembly (WRA)/shop replaceable assembly (SRA) substandard performance, ascertaining to the
