When specified , a sample shall besubjected to first article inspection (see 6.3 and 6.2).3.2 Materials. The cushioning material shall be made from lowdensity, resilient, unicellular (
15、closed cell) polypropylene foam materialand by such processes as to assure compliance with this specification.3.2.1 Certification. men specified (see 6.2) , the contractorshall submit certification that the material does not support active moldgrowth, has not been treated with fungicide or other tox
16、ic materials, andthe blowing agent is nonf lammsble and non-explosive.3.2.2 Recovered material. Recovered materials may be used to themnximum extent practicable consonant with the other requirements of thisspecification.3.3 g. The cushioning material shall be furnished in rolls,tear perforated rolls

Type 11material shall be tinted (any color except yellow) for identification.3.7 Identification of materia
26、l. Each roll or package of flat cutsshall include a tag, label or sheet containing the following information:specification number, type, manufacturers name, manufacturersdesignation, month and year of manufacture, and lot number. Letter8 andfigures shall be clear, legible and a minimum of one eighth
27、 inch high.In addition, the identification medium for Type 11 material shall alsoinclude the word “ANTI-STAT. ”4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified inthe contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of allinspection requirements
28、as specified herein. Except as otherwise spec-ified in the contract, the contractor may use bis own or any otherfacilities suitable for the performance of tbe inspection requirementsspecified berein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Governmentreserves the right to perform any of the inspect
29、ions set forth in thespecification where such Inspectlone are deemed necessary to assure thatsupplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.4.2specified4.3Classification of inspection. The inspection requirementsherein are classified as follows:a. First article inspection (see 4.3) .b. Qua
30、lity conformance inspection (see 4.4).First article inspection. The first article inspection shallconsist of examination and tests for all of the requirements of thisspecif icatlon. The inspection shall be performed by the first articleinspection laboratory designated by the contracting officer (see
31、 6.2) .When specified, first article inspection shall be conducted by tbecontractor in che presence of a Government representative designated bythe contracting officer. Approval of the first article inspection sampledoes not preclude the requirements for performing the quality conformanceinspection.
32、 First article inspection may be waived when the acquiringactivity or contract administration activity has data or other evidenceto indicate that prior successful first article inspection has beenconducted.4.3.1 First article samples. When specified by the contractingofficer (see 6.2) , the contract
33、or shall submit a firss article sample ofsufficient material to conduct all tests required by this specification.The sample shall be produced by the contractor using the same productionprocesses, procedures, and equipment used in fulf Illing the contract.Prior to submission the contractor shall insp
34、ect the sample to assurethat it conforms to the requirements of the contract and shall submit arecord of this inspection. 42、4.5.1 Examination of the end item for defects in appearance andworkmanship. Examinations shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 withan inspection level of S-3 and AQL of 4.0 defects per 100 units. Thesample unit for this examination shall be one square yard or equivalentsquare yardage of flat cuts.
43、 Sufficient rolls shall be selected atrandom so that by examining approximately 10 yards per roll, the requiredsample yardage will be obtained.
