、cification covers requirements and test methods for corrugated polyethylene pipe and fittings in nominal diameters of 75mm to 1500mm (3“to 60) with either a smooth or corrugated interior. This specification provides for soil tight, silt tight, and watertight joints. 1.2 The requirements of this spec

This specification covers both perforated and non-perforated pipe. 1.3 Pipe and fittings produced in accordance with this specification shall be installed in compliance wit

、h ASTM D2321, except other minimum cover may be specified. Note 7 - For perforated pipe applications, the size of the embedment zone and permeability of the embedment material are important to the systems ability to provide the desired level of infiltration or exfiltration. In addition, the gradatio

、n of the embedment material must be compatible with the perforation size to minimize backfill migration into the pipe. Alternatively, a filter material surrounding the pipe and suitable for the backfill material may be used. 1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard and th

The Canadian Standard Association (CSA) has specification CSA BI 82.6 for polyethylene storm drain pipe with a smooth interior. Although similar in requirement

、to this CPPA specification, CSA BI 82.6 should continue to be referenced for Canadian projects. 1.7 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to Section 7, the test method portion, of this specification. This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard d

、.2 6. Requirements General - This section allows users to specifically require recycled materials in the products covered by this specification. Unless the user calls out this section as a requirement of their product specifications, the materials for products in this specification shall conform to

、Sections 5.1 or 5.2, with the exception that, because of unknown pigmentation in the HDPE scrap feedstock, it is not practical to determine and set a specification for resin density. Recycled Materials - Compounds shall contain from 5% to 50% polyethylene (PE) recycled materials. Recycled material s

、hall be clean and free from contamination. Greater recycled polyeth- ylene content is allowed, provided that additional material stabilizers are added to the compound to prevent processing damage during product manufacture, and the product meets all Section 6 requirements. 6.1 Workmanship - The pipe

、 and fittings shall be homogeneous throughout and essentially uniform in color, opacity, and density. The pipe walls shall be free of cracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, and other defects that are visible to the naked eye and that may affect the wall integrity, except that holes inte

、ntionally placed in perforated pipe are acceptable. Note 2- Wall thickness variation is acceptable provided the pipe meets all minimum waterway wall thickness and performance requirements. Note 3 - This specification does not include requirements for the installation design of the pipe. Successful p

、erformance of this product depends upon the proper type of bedding and backfill, and care in installation. Upon request from the user, the manufacturer should provide wall section details, including inside and outside diameter, that may be required for a full eng i nee ring evaluation. Note 4 - The

、outside diameter of products manufactured to this specifica- tion are not specified; therefore, compatibility between pipe and fittings from different manufacturers should not be assumed. Note 5- The impact resistance of this product is not included in this specification (see Section 1.6 for specifi

、cation compatibility), which is consistent with other HDPE pipe specifications.
