SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a nitrile (NBR) rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes.1.2 ApplicationP

Discoloration of metal shall not be considered objectionable.3.3 QualityThe product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, smooth, as free from foreign material as commercially practicable, and free from imperfections detrime

22、ntal to usage of the product.3.4 TolerancesShall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2279.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchase

23、r reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of this specification.SAE AMS3226H Page 5 of 64.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsThe tests contained in Table 2 are acceptance tests and shall

25、all be performed prior to or on the initial shipment of the product to a purchaser, when a change in ingredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance TestsSuffi

26、cient product shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as specified in the applicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three.4.3.1.1 If test specimens cannot be prepared from the product

27、, ASTM test specimens prepared from the same batch and state of cure shall be used. When the product is an extrusion of such shape that suitable test specimens cannot be cut from the product, a separate flat strip test sample from the same production lot shall be supplied upon request. This strip sh

28、all be prepared from tubing 1.000 inch 0.063 (25 mm 1.60) in OD by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) in wall thickness, mechanically slit and flattened into a strip while being extruded, and cured in the same manner as production product. When the product is a molded shape from which test specimens ca

29、nnot be cut, a slab 6 inches (152 mm) square by 0.075 inch 0.008 (1.90 mm 0.20) molded from the same batch of compound shall be supplied upon request.4.3.1.2 A lot shall be all product from the same batch of compound processed in one continuous production run and presented for vendors inspection at

30、one time. An inspection lot shall not exceed 500 pounds (227 kg).4.3.1.3 A batch shall be the quantity of compound run through a mill or mixer at one time. Excluded from the definition is mixing of batches of previously compounded material.4.3.1.4 When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upo

31、n by purchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in 4.3.1 and the report of 4.5 shall state that such plan was used.4.3.2 For Preproduction Tests4.3.3 As agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.SAE AMS3226H Page 6 of 64.4 Approval4.4.1 Sample product shall

32、 be approved by purchaser before product for production use is supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production product shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, and me

33、thods of inspection on production product which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample product. If necessary to make any change in ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed c

34、hanges in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sample product. Production product made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 ReportsThe vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests to determine c

35、onformance to the acceptance test requirements and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS3226H, manufacturers identification, form and size or part number, and quantity.4.6 Resampling and RetestingIf

36、 any specimen used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the product may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for

37、rejection of the product represented. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 Identification and PackagingShall be in accordance with AMS2810.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledgi

38、ng purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSProduct not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
