1、 1 Scope This practice recommends the allocation of stereo audio tracks on quadruplex television tape recorders employing a split audio head, 1-in types B and C, 3/4-in type E, and 1/2-in types H, L, and M, for the exchange of stereo program material between television organizations. It also recomme
2、nds an identification procedure if noise reduction is employed, and identification and marking of the tape reel or cassette and the associated box. 2 Track allocation For stereo audio on television program material, track 1 shall carry the discrete left (L) signal and track 2 shall carry the right (
3、R) signal. The terms “left“ and “right“ shall relate to the viewers perspective. 3 Noise reduction Unless explicitly provided for by the applicable format documentation, noise reduction shall only be employed by prior arrangement of the persons exchanging program material. 4 Labels The tape reel or
4、cassette and the associated box shall be marked with an indication that the program material is recorded in stereo. If noise reduction is employed, the tape reel or cassette and the associated box shall be marked to identify its use, type, and reference fluxivity. Annex A (informative) Bibliography
