1升旗仪式1991 年 5 月 1 日 6 时 5 分，一支国旗护卫队迈着整齐的步伐，从天安门出发了，掌旗手擎着五星红旗，34 名护旗队员排成 4 路纵队，正步向旗杆基座行进。6 时 12 分，掌旗手将国旗庄重地交给升旗手。随着一声“敬礼”的口令，升旗手按动电钮，护卫队行持枪礼，军乐队奏国歌。国旗沿着 30 米高的银灰色旗杆徐徐上升。
