4、 2.7 mm. The second sentence of the first paragraph of 4.3.1 should read: For most applications, the diameters of 12.7, 15.88, and 19.05 mm (1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 in, respectively) are satisfactory. The third sentence of the first paragraph of 4.3.1 should read: The NEC specified that rods of steel or iron shall be at least 15.88 mm (5/8 in) in diameter and that rods of nonferrous materials shall not be less than 12.7 mm (1/2 in) in diameter. The fourth sentence in the third paragraph of 4.3.1 should read: Average soil conditions will permit the use of the 12.7 mm (1/2 in) rod.
