SCOPE 1.1 Scope. transmitter, designated D-5. This specification c

The following document forms a part of this specification t

8、o the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise specified, the issue of the document which is DOD adopted shall be that listed in the issue of the DODISS specified in the solicitation. Unless otherwise specified, the issue of the document not listed in the DODISS shall be the issue of the nongovernm

9、ent document which is current on the date of the solicitation. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein

11、(except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards), the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Qualif

12、ication. Transmitters furnished under this specification shall be products which are authorized by the qualifying activity for listing on the applicable qualified products list at-the time set for opening of bids (see 4.3 and 6.3). 3.1.1 Precedence. the requirements of MIL-T-5350 apply as requiremen

13、ts of this specification with the exceptions and additions specified herein. conflict this specification shall govern. The transmitter assembly shall consist of a transmitter in accordance with figure 1, a pressure fitting in accordance with figure 2, and a capillary link approved by the acquisition activity. 3.3.2 Synchro movement . the

19、 transmitter synchro shall move through an arc of 315 degrees. synchro movement shall be linear in relation to the pressure applied. For the range of O to 350 pounds per square inch (psi), The angle of 3.3.3 Case. The hermetically sealed case enclosing the transmitter element shall be equipped with

20、a tear strip for convenience in disassembly. The end of the tear strip shall be plainly marked with a light gray line. The design of the case and tear strip shall provide for a reasonably simple means of resealing the case, and shall be of such nature that resealing can be accomplished with tools or

21、dinarily possessed by an instrument repair man. 3.3.4 Reset adjustment. A hermetically sealed external zero reset adjustment shall be included on the end of the case containing the pressure connection as shown on figure 1. The adjustment shall have a total of the no$ less than 15 angular degrees mov

22、ement of the transmitter synchro. 3.3.5 Pressure measuri-ng unit. The pressure measuring unit of the transmitter shall include a barometric pressure compensating element vented to the atmosphere through a porous metal filter. The design shall provide a simple means of replacing the filters. 3.3.6 Ma

23、rking. The top of the transmitter when in its normal operating position shall be clearly marked “TOP“ with light gray lettering. 3.4 Mounting. The pressure fitting of the transmitter assembly shall be designed for direct mounting on the engine housing and shall conform to figures 2 and 3. The capill

24、ary system shall be substantially unaffected by exposure to temperature extremes, and shall be designed to eliminate oil congealing. The transmission capillary shall be an integral part of the system and shall not require servicing throughout the life of the transmitter. The capillary shall be 8 fee

25、t 0.500 inch long, and shall be unaffected by vibration encountered in engine nacelle installation. The capillary shall be legibly and permanently marked with a minimum of three bands containing the following statement: CAUTION-DO NOT CUT CAPILLARY 3.5 Damping. oscillation of the indicator pointer,

26、but shall not introduce an objectionable lag in pointer response. The damping shall be accomplished as shown on figure 3, or as otherwise specified by the acquisition activity (see 6.2). 3.6 Locking. The pressure fitting over shall be locked with a suitable locking device . The transmitter assembly

27、shall be sufficiently damped to prevent 3,7 Stop. Pipe threads shall be in accordance with MIL-P-7105. 3.10 Identification of product.

32、Equipment, assemblies, and parts shall be marked for identification in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.11 Recycled and reclaimed materials. The use of recycled and reclaimed materials shall be encouraged to the maximum extent possible without jeopardizing the intended end use of the item. 4. QUALITY

33、ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any

34、commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance.

35、All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of

36、assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual,.nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of de

37、fective material. The absence 4.2 Classification of inspections. The examining and inspection of the transmitter, pressure fitting, and capillary link shall be classified as: (a) Qualification inspections (4.3) (b) Quality conformance inspections (4.4) 4.3 Qualification inspections. Qualification in

38、spections shall consist of all the examinations and inspections specified in 4.6 and 4.7. 4.3.1 Qualification samples. The qualifications inspection samples shall consist of three transmitters. Samples shall be identified with the manufacturers part number and any additional information required by

39、the letter of authorization (see 6.3). 4.4 Quality conformance inspections. Quality conformance inspections shall consist of: (a) Individual inspections (4.4.1) (b) Sampling inspections (4.4.2) 4.4.1 Individual inspections. Each transmitter shall be subjected to: (a) Detail examination (4.6.1) (b) (

41、ections. 4.4.2.1 Sampling plan A. Five transmitters selected at random from each 500 or less on the contract or order shall be subjected to: (a) Individual inspections (4.4.1) (b) Transmitter assembly high (4.7.6) and low temperature (c) Vibration error (4.7.7) (d) Electrical characteristics (4.7.8)

42、 (e) Pressure fitting high (4.7.9) temperature 4.4.2.2 Sampling plan B. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), five transmitters selected at random from the first 25 items of the contract or order shall be subj ected to: Sampling plan A (4.4.2.1) Torque (4.7.10) Low temperature exposure (4.7.11) Alti

43、tude (4.7.12) High temperature exposure (4.7.13) Seasoning (4.7.14) - Endurance (4.7.15) Radio noise suppression (4.7.16) Voltage-frequency variation (4.7.17) Salt spray (4.7.18) Overpressure (4.7.19) Damping (4.7.20) Capillary link vibration (4.7.21) 4.5 Inspection conditions. Inspection conditions

44、 shall be as specified in MIL-T-5350, and as follows. 4.5.1 Position. Unless otherwise specified, the transmitter shall be inspected with the longitudinal axis in a horizontal plane, and the pressure fitting and transmitter shall be approximately the same height to avoid head pressure errors. 4.6 Ex

45、aminations. 4.6.1 Detail examination. The transmitter and pressure fitting shall be inspected to determine compliance with regard to workmanship, materials and marking. 4.6.2 Packaging, packing, and marking. for conformance with section 5. Preparation for delivery shall be examined 4.7 Inspection me

46、thods. 4.7.1 Scale error at room temperature. The transmitter shall be inspected for scale error, first with increasing readings, then with decreasing readings at the inspection points specified in table I. With increasing readings, the indication shall be bought up to, but shall not exceed the indi

47、cation specified to give the desired readings, and with readings decreasing, the indication shall be brought down to, but shall not fall below the indication specified to give the desired reading. 49、inspection may be conducted in conjunction with the inspection specified in 4.7.1. Two readings shall be taken; the first before and the second after the transmitter is tapped. The difference between the first and second readings shall not exceed the tolerance specified for friction in table II. TABLE II.
