Case 3.2 Materials. Materials used in the construction of the com- ponents shall bs new, of uniform quality
7、 and condition and shall be free from seams, cracks, and other defects which may adversely affect the appearance, strength, endurance, or wear resistance of the parts. With theexception specified in 3.3 MS and AN standard parts shall be used where they suit the purpose. They shall be identified on
10、the drawing by their part numbers. 3.4 Test Segment 3.4.1 Test segment components. The test segment shall be con- structed of the following components: 8. Hub b. Counterbalance c. 11、ssembly 3.4.1.1 Hub design. otherwise specified (see 6.2). The hub shall be as shown in figure 1 unless 3.4.1.2 Hub hardness. The hub shall have a minimum hardness of Rockwell C44. 3.4.1.3 Cable assembly. The cable assembly shall consist of a cable, means for attachment of the cable to the lever arm
12、, and a hook or weight platform for holding the certified weights. 3.4.2 when weights are attached to the cable hook or weight platform, the effective lever arm distance between the applied force and the center of the hub attachment shall be a minimum of 10.000 inches. The effective lever arm shall remain the same through an angular travel of 180 with any weight combination from the smallest fur- nished in the kit to the total of all the weights furnished in the kit.
