Noise measurement and control is dependent upon the individualcharacteristicsoftheprimemover,gearunitanddrivenmachineaswellastheircombinedeffects as a system in addition to the effects of the acoustic environment.The complexity makes most sound standards difficult to apply or interpret properly. T

17、heAGMA Acoustical Technology Committee developed this standard for the purpose ofprovidingimprovedcommunicationbetweenpurchaser,gearmanufactureranduserintheareas of sound instrumentation, sound measurements and test procedures.Becauseofthemanyvariationsofsystemresponseindifferentacousticenvironments

18、,thisstandard identifies certain areas where special test conditions might be necessary andshould be part of the contractual agreement between purchaser and gear manufacturer.The first draft of ANSI/AGMA 6025-C90 was prepared in January 1989 as a revision ofAGMA297.02. AGMA297.01wasfirstapprovedbyth

19、eAGMAmembershipinJulyof1973.The standard presented the A-weighted sound pressure level measurement proceduresforenclosedhelical,herringboneandspiralbevelgeardrives. WorkbeganonarevisionofAGMA 297.01 in 1979 to update the terminology and to add an appendix, a procedure forsound power measurements. AG

20、MA 297.02 was approved for printing and distribution in1983. This revision of AGMA 297.02 also incorporates AGMA 295.04 and AGMA 298.01,which were similar in content.ANSI/AGMA 6025-C90 was approved by the AGMA membership and the AmericanNational Standards Institute in 1990. This revision of the 1990

21、 standard is a modificationincorporating the procedures from ISO 8579-1:1993 as a normative annex, updating ofreferences and including additional information.Therearefourannexesinthisstandard. AnnexAisnormativeandisconsideredpartofthisstandardwhenspecified;AnnexesB,CandDareinformativeandarenotconsid

28、, it shall be theresponsibility of the purchaser to so state in hisinquiry and order.NOTE: The gear unit is only part of the total acousticsystem which includes, in addition to the gear unit, theprime mover, driven equipment, gear unit mounting,foundation and acoustic environment. Each of thesemight

29、 affect the measured level of sound emitted fromthe gear unit. Unless otherwise agreed, the gearmanufacturers responsibility is to ensure that the levelof noise emitted from a gear unit under the test condi-tions in his factory is within contractually specified ornegotiated limits.Special contractua

43、dureFor the purpose of sound pressure measurement inaccordance with this standard the followingconditions shall apply.5.1 EnvironmentThe acoustic environment for sound pressure test-ingshallbethemanufacturerstestlocationwhichistypically semi-reverberant. Since the purpose is todeterminethesoundpress

44、urelevelgeneratedbythegear unit, other equipment should be acousticallyisolated from the gear unit during the test.5.2 MountingThe gear unit should be mounted for testing in itsdesigned normal operating position. The testtransmission system (driver, gear unit and load)shouldpreferablybeconnectedbyme

45、ansofthefinalintended components, if available.5.3 Test conditions of the gear unitFor the purpose of sound measurement tests inaccordance with this standard, the followingconditions will apply:ANSI/AGMA 6025-D98AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD3- a gear unit intended for service at fixedconstant speed sha

46、ll be tested at that designspeed unless otherwise agreed upon betweengear manufacturer and purchaser;- the test speeds for a gear unit intended forservice over a range of operating speeds shallspan that range of operating speeds, unlessotherwise agreed upon between themanufacturer and the purchaser;

47、- gear units may be operated with or withoutload at the gear manufacturers discretion unlessspecifictestloads,agreeduponbetweenthegearmanufacturerandthepurchaser,arestatedinthepurchase contract;- thedirectionofrotationduringthetestshallbethe same as that intended in service. If the direc-tion of rot

48、ation is unknown, the test should be inboth directions.In individual cases, especially where unusuallyhighspeeds or powers are involved, alternate operatingconditions may be negotiated.6 Sound measurement6.1 Microphone locationThe microphone shall be located perpendicular toeach of the units major v

49、ertical surfaces, near theapproximate center but not less than 1.0 foot (0.3meter) above the test floor or plate (see figure 1).Themicrophonepositionwhichismosttypicalofthegear units maximum A-weighted sound level shallbe used for acceptance level measurements. Thedistance between the major vertical surface of thegear unit and the microphone, if not otherwisespecified, is to be as listed in table 1.
