19、 users of flexible couplings preferreddimensions, tolerances and fits for metric bores and keyways.This standard incorporates a small portion of the numerous variations of shaft/bore fits.These fits and tolerances have been determined to be the preferred fits and tolerances thatmost closely relate t
20、o the bore and keyway fit classes from ANSI/AGMA 9002-A86. A studyof the existing metric standards indicated that the many possible combinations of shaft/borefits would be impractical to adopt as an all encompassing standard. Therefore, thisstandard does not intend to replace any existing metric sta
21、ndards, but to define what ispreferred.The first draft of ANSI/AGMA 9112-A04 was made in May, 2001. It was approved by theAGMA membership in October 23, 2004. 28、eyways for unmounted industrialflexible couplings. The keys and keyways followedthe recommendations of ISO R773:1969 and shafttolerances followed ISO R775:1969. Shaft keyseatdimensions and tolerances were given in ISOR773:1969. This specification includes index toler-ances for multiple keyways.Inspe
29、ction methods for straight and tapered boresand keyways are included in the annexes. Theannexes also include the recommended designpractice for tapered shafts for use with flexiblecouplings.1.1 Application areaThis standard is applicable to couplings as defined inANSI/AGMA 9009-D02, Nomenclature for

38、r may not bea stock bore size for each coupling manufacturer.4.1.1 Shaft-to-hub fitShaft-to-hub fit is the responsibility of the purchas-er. Table 2 shows the resulting fits of the preferredshaft/bore combinations.4.1.2 Standard shaft-to-hub fitsThis standard covers three classes of fits, clearance,
39、transitional and interference as shown in table 2.Additional combinations of shaft/bore tolerancingand resulting fits, found in various specifications, aregiven in annex E. Use of the annex E combinations(or others) shall be approved by the couplingmanufacturer. The type of shaft-to-hub fit selected
40、is dependent on the type of coupling and service inwhich the coupling will be used. If a particular type offit is desired, it shall be specified by the purchaser ofthe coupling.4.1.2.1 Clearance fitsClearance fits are normally used to facilitate assem-bly and disassembly of coupling hub(s). Factors
41、tobe considered when using clearance fits include:- axial positioning and securing of coupling hub(s)during operation;- when couplings are used for axial location of con-nected equipment (limited end float);- the effect of hub-to-shaft clearance on couplingbalance and coupling life;- fretting of sha
42、ft and hub bore.4.1.2.2 Transitional fitsTransitional fits result in the possibility of a clearanceor interference fit as a result of the tolerances of bothshaft and hub bore. The average fit is “size on size”.Transitional fits result when H7 bore tolerances areused in conjunction with the shaft tol
43、erances fromISO R775:1969.4.1.2.3 Interference fitsInterference fits are normally used to:- maintain positive axial location of the hub(s) onthe shaft(s) during operation;- preserve the inherent balance quality of the cou-pling;- minimize fretting of the shaft and bore.Nominal interference fit rate
44、is 0.0005 mm/mm ofdiameter. Some applications may require greaterinterference fit. The coupling purchaser shall advisethe coupling manufacturer when a heavier interfer-ence fit is required. Heavier fits can influence thecoupling design and materials selected.4.1.3 Unspecified hub-to-shaft fitsWhen t
45、he purchaser does not specify the hub-to-shaft fit required, the coupling manufacturer will borethe coupling to their standard tolerance in accor-dance with one of the fits given in table 2. Thepurchaser is responsible for the resulting fit.4.2 Non-standard boresNon-standard bores are produced to di
46、mensionsand tolerances which are outside this standard.4.3 Set screwsSet screws, when furnished for use with keys, shallbe in accordance with each coupling manufacturersstandard, unless otherwise specified by thepurchaser.4.4 Bore surface finishMachine finished bores shall have a surface finishnorma
