、 interpretation refers to the requirements in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 190-2013, Section 2, regarding the description of equipment covered by the scope of the standard. Background: The Scope description of the ASHRAE Standard 190 2013 allows for equipment which may include air reheating. That could lead
、 for Cool-only mechanical vapor-compression refrigeration systems to be tested under ASHRAE Standard 190 - 2013. Air reheat is a mandatory function of the Indoor Pool Dehumidifiers to prevent the space overcooling. Using external energy input for air reheat is wasteful and is prohibited or limited p
、er ASHRAE Standard 90.1. ASHRAE Standard 190 - 2013 was developed for Cool-reheat mechanical vapor-compression refrigeration dehumidification systems. At present ASHRAE Standard 190 - 2013 Scope is in contradiction with the standard content. Section 2 states: 2. Scope 2.1 This standard applies to in

、he above are excluded. As per ASHRAE Appeals Panel recommendation this Interpretation shall clarify what types of configurations of equipment may be tested using this standard. Interpretation: Types of configurations of equipment to be tested using ASHRAE Standard 190 2013 are specified in Section 2
、 Scope. Configurations of equipment other then specified including Cool-only mechanical vapor-compression refrigeration systems are not covered by ASHRAE Standard 190-2013. Question: Is this interpretation correct? Answer: Yes. Comments: As stated in the Interpretation Section of this document Cooling only equipment is not covered by this standard.
