32、ired.5.2 Freezer Selection and ApplicationPrior to the use ofSection 4 classifications, the purchaser will ensure the user isnot restricted by some aspect of the freezer design such asweight or external dimensions that would prevent the unre-stricted use of the classifications listed in Section 4.5.
33、3 Freezer AvailabilityAlthough Section 4 lists a widerange of types, styles/capacities, classes, grades, and groups forcommercial types of freezers, not all combinations may beavailable.5.4 Supplementary RequirementsThe supplementary re-quirements shall apply only when specified by the purchaser int
34、he contract or order.6. Materials6.1 GeneralFreezers shall conform to the applicabledocuments listed in Section 2. Materials used shall be free fromdefects that would affect the performance or maintainability ofindividual components or of the overall assembly. Materialsnot specified herein shall be
35、of the same quality used for theintended purpose in commercial practice. Unless otherwisespecified herein, all equipment, material, and articles incorpo-rated in the work covered by this specification are to be new orfabricated using materials produced from recovered materialsto the maximum extent p
36、ossible without jeopardizing theintended use. None of the preceding shall be interpreted tomean that the use of used or rebuilt products are allowed underthis specification unless otherwise specified.6.2 Hardware and FittingsUnless otherwise specified (see5.1.3), all hardware and fittings shall be c
37、orrosion-resistant orsuitably processed to resist corrosion in accordance with themanufacturers standard practice.6.3 Threaded PartsAll threaded parts shall conform toANSI B1.1.7. Design and Construction7.1 Electrical Components:7.1.1 Electric MotorsAll electric motors shall have bear-ings that requ
38、ire no additional lubrication.7.2 Steel FabricationThe steel used in fabrication shall befree from kinks, sharp bends, and other conditions that wouldbe deleterious to the finished product. Manufacturing processesshall not reduce the strength of the steel to a value less thanintended by the design.
39、Manufacturing processes shall be doneneatly and accurately. All bends shall be made by controlledmeans to ensure uniformity of size and shape.7.3 LubricationAll bearings (unless lifetime lubricated),gears, and sliding parts shall have provision and instructionsfor lubrication. Bearings or parts in t
40、he food zone requiringlubrication shall be identified in the operators manual andacceptable food grade lubricants shall be specified by themanufacturer.7.4 InterchangeabilityAll units of the same classificationfurnished with similar options under a specific contract shall beidentical to the extent n
41、ecessary to ensure interchangeability ofcomponent parts, assemblies, accessories, and spare parts.7.5 Use of ozone-depleting chemicals must comply withnational regulations.7.5.1 RefrigerantsUnless otherwise specified (see 5.1),shall be the manufacturers standard chemical(s).8. 42、ts8.1 Performance Standard ComplianceIce cream freezersshall conform to the requirements of UL 621, and NSF/ANSI6.8.2 Performance TestingWhen specified in the contract orpurchase order, performance testing shall be performed inaccordance with Test Method F2795.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9
43、.1 All components and assemblies of the freezer shall befree of dirt and other extraneous materials, burrs, slivers, tooland grind marks, dents, and cracks. Castings, molded parts, andstampings shall be free of voids, sand pits, blow holes, andsprues. External surfaces shall be free of sharp edges a
44、ndcorners. All sheet metals used in the fabrication of the freezershall be free from kinks, dents, and other deformities. Formingand welding shall not cause damage to the metal and shall bedone neatly and accurately.10. Sampling and Quality Assurance10.1 SamplingWhen specified in the contact or purc
45、haseorder, sampling for the inspection and tests contained in themain body of this specification shall be performed in accor-dance with ANSI Z1.4.10.2 The equipment prepared for shipment shall be mea-sured and inspected by the manufacturer for compliance withthis specification.11. Rejection and Rehe
46、aring11.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.12. Certi
47、fication12.1 Certification of compliance with the standards cited inthis specification shall be provided to the purchaser if requiredin the purchase document. Certification specified under 8.1 willbe accepted as evidence of compliance.Acceptable evidence ofmeeting the requirements of UL 621 shall be
48、 UL listing, or ULlabel, or certified test report from a recognized independenttesting laboratory acceptable to the user.
