Materials and Manufacture6.1 MaterialThe material shall be a continuous, high-density-type ETG fiberglass material (see S

18、he sizes listed in Table 2.7.3 Type III Braided PackingUnless otherwise specified(see 5.1), the packing shall come in 25-lb (11.3-kg) or 50-lb(22.7-kg) spools, reels, or coils in the sizes listed in Table 3.8. Workmanship8.1 WorkmanshipThe packing shall be free from extrane-ous material and visible
19、defects that affect its serviceability.9. Quality Assurance9.1 Quality SystemsSuppliers shall be prepared to docu-ment use of a quality system such as compliance with an ISO9000 series program or similar program.10. Specimen Preparation10.1 Specimen PreparationPurchaser and supplier shallagree on sp
20、ecimen preparation.11. Test Methods11.1 MaterialMaterial shall be tested in accordance withSpecification D578.11.2 SizeMaterial shall be measured using a flexiblemeasuring tape such as the one described in Test MethodsD4268 and shall be in accordance with the size specified inTable 1, Table 2,orTabl
21、e 3.11.3 SplicesUnless otherwise agreed upon, there shall beallowed a maximum of two splices per unit with no pieceshorter than 10 ft in length.11.4 WeightMaterial shall be weighed in accordance withTable 1, Table 2,orTable 3 using a weighing scale, accurate to60.25 related to the real division of t
22、he graduated line. Thisvalue is expressed in mass unit of:(a) the difference between the corresponding values ofmarks of the graduated line and(b) the difference between two consecutive indications fordigital indication.12. Inspection and Testing12.1 Inspection and testing of the material shall be a
23、greedupon between the purchaser and the supplier as part of thepurchase contract (see 5.1).13. Rejection13.1 Materials that fail to conform to the requirements ofthis specification shall be rejected. Rejection should be re-ported to the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. Incase of dissati
24、sfaction with the results of testing, the produceris entitled to make claim for a rehearing or provide for thirdparty testing.14. Certification14.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tes
25、ted or inspected as directedin this specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished (see 5.1).15. Product Marking15.1 MarkingFor commercial shipment, marking shall bein accordance with accepted industry
