Materials6.1 GeneralRecirculating hood systems shall conform tothe applicable documents listed in Section 2. Materials usedshall be free of defects that would affect the
27、performance ormaintainability of individual components or of the overallassembly. Materials not specified herein shall be of the samequality used for the intended purpose in commercial practice.The use of used or rebuilt products is not allowed under thisspecification unless otherwise specified.6.2
28、HoodThe hood and other parts of an exhaust hood thatserve to confine or convey the exhaust products, includingdampers and structural parts, shall be made of materialsequivalent in strength and fire resistance to Type 302, 304, or430 stainless steel not less than 0.037 inch (0.94 mm) or steelnot less
29、 than 0.043 inch (1.09 mm) thick. Internal ferrous metalparts of the hood shall be made of one of the 300 or 400 seriesof stainless steel or provided with corrosion protection.6.3 Hardware and FittingsUnless otherwise specified, allhardware and fittings shall be corrosion resistant to Specifica-tion
30、s A167 or A176 or suitably processed to resist corrosion inaccordance with the manufacturers standard practice.6.4 Threaded PartsAll threaded parts shall conform toANSI B1.1.7. Physical Requirements7.1 GeneralThese devices incorporate an air filteringsystem enclosed in a hooded area intended to capt
31、ure effluentfrom the cooking process. The hood assembly typically in-cludes a fan, hood, and an air filtering system (consisting of agrease filter with or without other filtering means). In addition,the hood assembly includes a fire actuated damper, and a fireextinguishing system.7.2 Grease Removal
32、Devices:7.2.1 Grease filters and extractors shall be installed inaccordance with the terms of the approval and the manufac-turers instruction.7.2.2 Filters shall be tight fitting and firmly held in place.F2800 11 (2017)27.2.3 Filters shall be easily accessible and readily remov-able for cleaning.7.3
33、 Filter InterlocksEach filter, including electrostaticprecipitators and odor filters, shall be provided with aninterlock to determine if the filter is in place and positioned asintended. When the filter is not in place or not positioned asintended, the interlock shall de energize the heat source for
34、 thecooking appliance.7.4 Fire Extinguishing EquipmentA UL Listed fire extin-guishing system listed shall be installed with hood fire actuateddamper when the grease emissions exceed 5 mg/m3before thefirst filter or when specified by user.7.5 Hood AirflowA manually resettable device for use asa safet
35、y interlock shall be provided after the last filter compo-nent to disable the heating portion of the cooking appliance ifthe airflow through the hood drops 10 % below the minimumairflow that will capture and contain the cooking effluentduring full load cooking conditions.8. Performance Requirements8
36、.1 GeneralRecirculating hood systems shall conform tothe requirements of ANSI/UL 710B.8.2 When requested by the user, capture and containmentexhaust flow rate results per Test Method F1704, greaseemissions results per EPA Method 202, filtration efficiencyresults per Test Method F2519, and heat and m
37、oisture loadingresults per Test Method F2474 will be furnished.8.2.1 Capture and Containment Exhaust Flow RateTheminimum airflow rate through the recirculating system shallcapture and contain the cooking effluent according to TestMethod F1704.8.2.2 Grease EmissionsThe total particulate and condens-a
38、ble grease shall not exceed a concentration 5 mg/m3in theexhaust airstream as determined in 8.1.8.2.3 Filtration EffciencyThe filtration efficiency of theprimary filter shall be determined by Test Method F2519.8.2.4 Heat and Moisture LoadingThe radiant, convective,latent and moisture loading shall b
39、e determined by applyingTest Method F2474. The heat and moisture loading to the spaceshall not exceed the capacity of the general HVAC system forthe space.9. Certification9.1 Standards and ComplianceThe recirculating hoodsystems shall conform to the requirements of ANSI/UL 710Band NSF/ANSI 2. Accept
40、able evidence of meeting theserequirements shall be a current listing mark, label, or symbol ofa recognized independent testing laboratory and a currentlisting in the testing laboratorys appropriate publication.9.1.1 Certification of compliance with the standards cited inthis specification shall be

Sampling10.1 When specified in the contract or purchase order,sampling, testing, and quality assurance of finished units shallbe performed in accordance to the requirements specified byANSI Z1.4.11. When specified in the purchase order, supplementaryrequirements shall apply when this standard is used in govern-ment procurement of commercial recirculating hood system forcooking appliances. The identification plate shall include thecontract number, national sto
47、ck number, name, brand, ortrademark of the manufacturer of such name character as to bereadily traceable to the manufacturer.S2.
