Ordering Information5.1 Purchasers should select the Coffee Brewer and anypreferred options and

23、.5.1.5 Accessory equipment, spare, and maintenance partsrequired.5.1.6 Any special requirements or deviation from this speci-fication.5.2 The following options should be reviewed, and ifdesired they should be also be included in the order:5.2.1 When Federal/Military procurement(s) is involved,refer

27、viceshall be specified.5.2.7 When special holding devices are required guardrailsshall be specified.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials used in the construction of the machine shallcomply with NSF No. 4 and UL Standard 197. Materials notdefinitely specified shall be of the quality normally use
28、d by themanufacturer in making coffee brewing equipment, providingthe completed items comply with all provisions of the standard.6.2 Hardware and FittingsUnless otherwise specified, allhardware and fittings shall be corrosion-resistant to ASTMA167 or ASTM A176 or suitably processed to resist corrosi
29、onin accordance with the manufacturers standard practice.6.3 Threaded PartsAll threaded parts shall conform toANSI B1.1, unless otherwise specified.7. Physical Properties7.1 GeneralThe coffee brewer shall be an electromechani-cal device for dispensing potable water over a ground coffeemixture either
30、 automatically or upon manual actuation. Thecoffee and water shall be combined in the single cup packetchamber (Type I) or in a brew basket (Type II, Type III) thatF2988 122can be removed to discard the mixture and rinsed clean at theend of each brew cycle. The coffee brewer shall be designed tocomp
31、ly with the requirements of ANSI/NSF 4 and ANIS/UL197. Proof of compliance with ANSI/UL 197 shall be a listingin a third-party certification agency listing book or a certifica-tion test report from a nationally recognized testing laboratoryacceptable to the purchaser. When specified by the purchaser
32、proof of compliance with ANSI/NSF 4 shall be a listing in athird-party certification agency listing book or a certified testreport from a nationally recognized testing laboratory accept-able to the purchaser.NOTE 1The third party certification agency may be different that theagency that created the

Performance Requirements8.1 When specified, a production model of the coffee brewerof interest shall be tested in accordance with the ASTMStandard Test Method for Commercial Coffee Brewers (WKItem #XXXXX) for the following items:8.1.1 Maximum energy input rate.8.1.2 Preheat energy and ti
34、me.8.1.3 Ready-to-Brew energy rate.8.1.4 Heavy use brewing energy rate and production capac-ity will be tested by applying the appropriate method specifiedfor Type I and Type II coffee brewers.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 WorkmanshipAll components and assemblies of themachine shall be f
35、ree from dirt and other extraneous materialsuch as burrs, slivers, rough die marks, and tool and grindmarks, dents, and cracks. Castings and molded parts, if used,shall be free of sand, fins, pits, blowholes, and sprue(s).External surfaces shall meet the UL 1439 Sharp Edge Test.NOTE 2Although 9.1 re
36、quires subjective judgments, its inclusion isconsidered important as a guide in evaluating and manufacturing equip-ment.9.2 Metal FabricationMetal used in the fabrication of themachines shall be free from visually apparent defects. Formingand shearing shall not cause damage to the metal and the meta
37、lshall be free from trimming marks.9.3 WeldingThe surfaces of parts to be welded shall befree from rust, scale, paint, grease, and other foreign matter.Welds shall be smooth and free from cracks, burn holes,undercuts, or incomplete fusion.9.4 Fastening DevicesHoles punched or drilled shall befree of
38、 burrs. Threaded fasteners shall not be broken, cracked,or stripped and shall be drawn tight. Rivets, when used, shallfill the hole completely and the head shall be in full contactwith the surface of the member.9.5 FinishMachine finishes shall be free from discolor-ation and stains. Stainless steel
39、shall have a 2B or smootherfinish.10. Sampling and Quality Assurance10.1 SamplingWhen specified in the contract or purchaseorder, sampling for inspection should be performed in accor-dance with ANSI Z1.4.10.2 Measure and inspect the machines prepared for ship-ment for performance, safety, and appear
40、ance by a qualifiedquality audit program.11. Certification11.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been tested or inspected as directed in thisspecification and the requirements have been met. 41、ecified in the purchase order or contract, a report shall befurnished on this testing and inspection.12. Product Marking12.1 Each machine shall be provided with identificationplate or adjacent plate(s) securely affixed to the item. Theplate(s) and its markings shall meet UL 197 requirements forlabel
42、s on indoor equipment.13. Manuals13.1 Format and content of applicable manuals shall be asindicated in Specification F760 when specified.14. Packaging and Package Marking14.1 The complete coffee equipment shall be packaged inaccordance with the suppliers standard practice.14.2 The packaging shall me

45、 F760 and itssupplement shall be provided.S2. First Article InspectionS2.1 When required, the first article inspection shall beperformed on one unit. The first article may be either a firstproduction item or a standard production item from thesuppliers current inventory, provided the item meets ther
46、equirements of the standard and is representative of thedesign, construction, and manufacturing technique applicableto the remaining items to be furnished under the contract.S3. Label PlatesS3.1 Coffee Makers shall be provided with data-name platesand instruction plates.S3.1.1 Data-name PlatesCoffee
47、 Makers shall be providedwith data-name plates readily visible to the operator duringnormal operating use and so as to not adversely affect the lifeand utility of the unit. Plates shall be attached to the front of theunit in such a manner as to meet the applicable NationalSanitation Foundation Inter
