6、g Society StandardsAll standards (codes, specifications, recommended practices, methods, classifications, and guides) of the AmericanWelding Society are voluntary consensus standards that have been developed in accordance with the rules of theAmerican National Standards Institute. When AWS standards

7、 are either incorporated in, or made part of, documents thatare included in federal or state laws and regulations, or the regulations of other governmental bodies, their provisionscarry the full legal authority of the statute. In such cases, any changes in those AWS standards must be approved by the

8、governmental body having statutory jurisdiction before they can become a part of those laws and regulations. In all cases,these standards carry the full legal authority of the contract or other document that invokes the AWS standards. Wherethis contractual relationship exists, changes in or deviatio

9、ns from requirements of an AWS standard must be by agree-ment between the contracting parties.AWS American National Standards are developed through a consensus standards development process that bringstogether volunteers representing varied viewpoints and interests to achieve consensus. Examination or measurement to verify whether an item or activity conforms to specified requirements.inspector. A person who performs an inspection or exam fun

Verification by testing of the characteristics or abilities gained through training, experience, or both thatenables individuals to perform certain functions.robotic arc welding operator. The person designated to start, monitor, and

34、 stop the intended productive operation of arobot or robot system. An operator may also interface with a robot for productive purposes.robotic arc welding personnel. Individuals who may be robotic operators, technicians, engineers or maintenance sup-port personnel for robotic arc welding application

35、s.robotic arc welding personnel qualification. The verification of robotic arc welding personnels ability to meet pre-scribed standards for performance qualification.verification. The act of reviewing, inspecting, testing, checking, auditing, or otherwise determining and documentingwhether items, pr

36、ocesses, services, or documents conform to specified requirements.4. Specifications for Qualification of Robotic Arc Welding PersonnelTables 1 through 3 provide the specifications for the qualification of robotic arc welding personnel at the three levels des-ignated by this standard. Table 1 lists t

37、he skill requirements, experience and educational requirements, and training rec-ommendations for a Robotic Arc Welding OperatorLevel 1 applicant. Table 2 lists skill requirements, experience andeducational requirements, and training recommendations for a Robotic Arc Welding TechnicianLevel 2 applic

38、ant.Table 3 lists skill requirements, experience and educational requirements, and training recommendations for a RoboticArc Welding EngineerLevel 3 applicant.To qualify at a specific Level, one shall demonstrate the ability to complete the required performance objectives for thatLevel. Table 4 summ

39、arizes the requirements and at which level(s) they apply.The components for the specimen used to conduct the performance welding test shall be of the dimensions and layoutshown in Figure 1. Assembly of the components of the test specimen shall be as shown in Figure 2.This third edition changes the l

40、evels of qualification to Level 1Certified Robotic and Automated Welding Operator(CRAW-O), Level 2Certified Robotic and Automated Welding Technician (CRAW-T), and Level 3CertifiedRobotic and Automated Welding Engineer (CRAW-E) from the second editions qualification designations of Level 1CRAW-L1, Le

41、vel 2CRAW-O, and Level 3CRAW-T. Section C lists trai

43、ning recommendations.A. Skill and Ability Requirements1. Identify sources of input power and demonstrate a working knowledge of how to power up the robot and robot ancillaryequipment along with peripheral devices such as wire feeders, coolant pumps, and torch cleaner, etc.2. Demonstrate routine main

44、tenance of the robotic welding torch including but not limited to demonstrating changing thecontact tips, welding electrode feeding equipment, gas diffusers, insulators, and nozzles.3. Demonstrate a familiarity with and demonstrate working knowledge of the robot teaching pendant and any robot ancill

45、arycontrol device that is required for the startup, operation, maintenance, and supervision of the robot system.4. Identify all safeguarding devices consistent with D16.2 that are incorporated into the robot system. Identification of thesafeguards also includes an explanation of their purpose, activ

46、ation, and recovery.5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the robot system and welding process equipment and a familiarity with the operatinginstructions.6. Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude through the use of tools to maintain the robot system and tooling.7. Demonstrate good verbal and written c

47、ommunication skills.8. Exhibit knowledge required to create, adjust, and modify robot system programs.B. Experience and Education Requirements1. Have a minimum of 1000 hours arc welding. Note: hours consist of time on the job employed as a welder, student, engineerand not actual arc on time while un

48、der the hood.2. High school diploma or equivalent.C. Training Recommendations1. Receive instruction in the safe use of an arc welding robot system.2. Receive instruction in visual weld inspection.3. Receive training to include information and knowledge required to create, adjust, and modify robot sy
