、 Connectors and Sockets Used in Controlled Environment Applications. 4 Standard Connector Electrical Description The function of each pin on the connector is summarized in Table 3. 4.1 Power Requirements Power for the portable device shall be provided through the connector via a USB interface. Three

、 types of power shall be supported, low current (100 mA at 5 V), medium current (500 mA at 5 V) and high current (1.8 A at 5 V). A high current power supply allows a portable device to be charged at a higher rate than is possible using lower current USB power. Note: When two portable devices are con

、nected, power delivery shall be negotiated in accordance with the Universal Serial Bus Specification, USB On The Go Supplement, Revision 1.0a. The connector shall support high current power (1.8 A at 5 V) on separate power input pins (pins 6 and 15, with pins 7 and 16 grounds, respectively). There a

、re two pins for 5 V high current power because the wire gauge of a single pin is not sufficient to carry 3.6 A. High current power in allows a portable device to be charged more quickly than with USB power. Note: CEA-2017-A changes the current amperes and may not be compatible with devices that are

、implemented using the ANSI/CEA-2017 specification. 4.2 Data Transfer Requirements The connector shall support data transfer to/from the portable device via a high speed (480 Mb/sec) USB 2.0 bus that complies with the Universal Serial Bus 2.0 Specification, Revision 2.0. The connector shall support d

、ata transfer to/from the portable device via a USB On-The-Go bus that complies with the Universal Serial Bus On-The-Go Supplement Revision 1.0a. USB On-The-Go CTA-2017-A R-2016 21functionality permits the portable device and the device to which it is connected to negotiate which one will be the mast

、er and which will be the client. The connector shall support data transfer to/from the portable device via a super-speed USB 3.0 bus that complies with the Universal Serial Bus 3.0 Specification, Revision 1.0. The connector shall support digital communication with other devices for mutual device con

、trol using a single wire interface that complies with the High-Definition Multimedia Interface Specification Version 1.3A Specification, Supplement 1, Consumer Electronic Control (CEC). Data can be transferred over USB, DisplayPort, or both, depending on the client device. USB will allow high-speed

、bidirectional transfer and is best suited for file management functions. It is also suited for playback of media using compressed data formats. DisplayPort is suited for the playback of non-compressed media, and provides content protection via HDCP. Low-speed bi-directional transfer is also possible

、 over the DisplayPort AUX channel, which is useful for configuration and control information. See Section 4.5 for more detail on command and control mechanisms supported by this specification. 4.3 Analog Audio Line Output The connector shall support a stereo line output signal coming from the portab

、le device. Line level signals are defined in CEA-CPEB-6-A, Preferred Voltage and Impedance Values for the Interconnection of Audio Products. The portable device shall be assumed to have a high output impedance (greater than 1 k ohm). The audio output signal shall be assumed to be 500 mVrms nominal,

、1.2 Vp maximum, with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. 4.4 Digital Video The connector shall support a digital video output stream that complies with the VESA DisplayPort Specification, version 1.1a. Two lanes of Main Link data are supported. CTA-2017-A R-2016 22Table 3: Connector Pin Functio
