48、istence of Wireless Personal Area Networks with Other Wireless Devices Operating in Unlicensed Frequency Bands1. OverviewThis recommended practice addresses the issue of coexistence of wireless personal area networks (WPAN)and wireless local area networks (WLAN). These wireless networks often operat
49、e in the same unlicensedfrequency band. This recommended practice describes coexistence mechanisms that can be used to facilitatecoexistence of WPANs (i.e., IEEE Std 802.15.1-20021) and WLANs (i.e., IEEE Std 802.11b-1999).The unlicensed frequency bands used by each wireless technology are specied within its respective stan-dard. This recommended practice also describes a computer model of the mutual interference between IEEEStd 802.15.1-2002 and IEEE Std 802.11b-1999 for information.1.1 ScopeThe scope is to develop a recommended practice for an IEEE 8
