11、 Switzerland Printed in Switzerland ii 0 ISO/IEC ISO/IEC 9995-8:1994(E) Foreword IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (the Inter- national Electrotechnical Commission) form the specialized system for worldwide standardization. National bodies that are members of IS0 or IE
12、C participate in the development of International Standards through technical committees established by the respective organization to deal with particular fields of technical activity. IS0 and IEC technical com- mittees collaborate in fields of mutual interest. Other international organizations, go
13、vernmental and non-governmental, in liaison with IS0 and IEC, also take part in the work. In the field of information technology, IS0 and IEC have established a joint technical committee, ISO/IEC JTC 1. Draft International Standards adopted by the joint technical committee are circulated to national

The layout specified in this part of ISO/IEC 9995 is intended for applications of information technology equipment keyboards where letters instead of digits are used for the mnemonic retention of numeric information. The use of letters on the
20、 numeric zone ZNO for the mnemonic retention of numeric information is strongly deprecated on keyboards which also contain an alphanumeric section. The inclusion of two sets of alphabetical symbols used in different ways could confuse the user of the keyboard. 2 Conformance A keyboard is in conforma

The ten digits
