18、ility 1.3 Order of Precedence In the event of a conflict between this specification and the references cited herein (except for associated detail specification sheets, or MS standards), the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede appl

19、icable laws or regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. NEMA WC 75-2015 Page 3 2015 National Electrical Manufacturers Association Section 2 Classification 2.1 General The cable shall consist of 161 pairs, shielded, or shielded and jacketed. The cable shall also be of the following

20、type designation and shall be furnished in the basic wire size, type, number of pairs, and shield and jacket styles as specified (see 2.2 and 6.2). See paragraph 2.2 for an example. 2.2 Cable Designation The type designation of cable will consist of the following form, and as specified (see 6.2): WC

22、example: WC75-100S24EE9T09 Construction: S = Silver Coated Copper 24 = 24 AWG EE = PTFE 9 = Number of pairs T = Tin Copper Braid 09 = FEP Jacket A = Standard Identification Method A 2.2.1 Characteristic Impedance The nominal desired characteristic impedance shall be specified as a three digit number

23、. Examples: 050 = 50 , 075 = 75, 100 = 100 , 120 = 120 2.2.2 Conductor Material and Stranding The conductor material shall be identified by a letter symbol as specified in Table 2-1. All wire in the cable shall be the same material and stranding. Conductor material type must reflect those available

All conductors in the cable shall be of the same size. 2.2.4 Dielectric Type The dielectric type is identified by a letter symbol as shown in Table 2-2. All

26、 wire in the cable shall be the same dielectric type. 28、2015 Page 5 2015 National Electrical Manufacturers Association 2.2.5 Color Code The individual components shall be identified by one of the following Methods. The desired method will be spelled out in the part number designator. Example: Method A shall be “A.” 2.2.5.1 Standard Identification Method

29、A The standard identification method shall consist of numbers in sequence, running from 1 through the number corresponding to the total quantity of twisted pairs in the cable. Both conductors in each pair shall be numbered the same, denoting the sequence number of the pair. Distinction between the t

30、wo conductors shall be provided by having one white and one black. Conductors of a cable with a single pair need not be numbered. 2.2.5.2 Alternate Identification Method B Method B shall be the use of solid base colors, or a white base color with tracers as required. The tracers shall be in accordan

31、ce with MIL-STD-681. 38、e number of pairs per cable shall be as designated in the part number. They are available from one (1) to sixty-one (61) pairs. 2.2.7 Shield Material The shield material is identified by a letter symbol as specified in Table 2-5. When double shields are specified, the two shields shall be placed in

39、direct contact. No jacket or binder is required between the shields. Aluminum polyester tapes (APE) shall be .00135. Aluminum polyimide shall be .002 in thickness. Aluminum meta-aramid shall be .003 in thickness. For Shield Symbols A, E, J, and P a drain wire shall be applied in contact with the foi

40、l side of the braid which shall be facing out. The drain shall be the same AWG and material as the component wires in the cable. For all other Shield Symbols the foil side of the tape shall be facing out on the inner tape, and the foil side shall be facing in on the outer tape so as to ground the fo

41、ils to the braid(s). This standard covers a wide variety of possible primary wires, shields, and jacket combinations. It is strongly recommended that consultation between users and cable manufacturers be made in order to assure the most suitable cable. Materials shall be as specified herein.
