30、ion TIA/EIA-732-900PART 900 Protocol Testing Overview1 IntroductionSuccessful interoperation of CDPD equipment requires correct implementation of the CDPD protocols. Abstract Test Suites (ATSs) contain the specifications for tests sufficient to indicate the likelihood of correct protocol implementat
31、ions. This Part presents an overview of protocol testing and CDPD ATS methodology.Basic Interconnection Tests (BITs) are used to reduce the likelihood that rogue implementations negatively impact the CDPD infrastructure. A more extensive test capability is provided by conformance tests, which exerci
32、se a protocol through both its normal and error procedures for all mandatory functions and stated optional capabilities.The ATSs defined in the following Parts include BIT testing and selected error scenario testing for CDPD protocols such as DSMA and MDLP. Testing for performance and stress is beyo
33、nd the scope of TIA/EIA-732.The goal of the tests defined in the following Parts is to ensure that CDPD equipment provides good and fair service to the users of CDPD systems. However, these tests are not so restrictive as to contain implementations by manufacturers.Any conflict, either real or perce

35、The CDPD protocol test specifications consist of a number of interrelated “documents” for testing CDPD protocols. The following diagram illustrates the structure of the documentation. Figure 900-1 shows several documents for each of the protocols to be tested. For each protocol there is a common Pro
36、tocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) covering the complete protocol. For asymmetrical protocols separate test suites exist for the user side of the protocol (end system) and the network side. For a symmetric protocol only one test suite exists. 41、732 may involve one or more consecutive or concurrent connections.Abstract Test Suite (ATS)A test suite composed of abstract test cases.Basic Interconnection Test (BIT)A test of an IUT which has limited scope to determine whether or not there is sufficient conformance to the relevant protocol(s) for

A test suite which exercises all mandatory and all optional features through their valid behavior and error handling procedures, would ac
