29、s of fiber-optic cable to specify thechoice of single-mode optical fiber contained in the cable. This Specification, in conjunction withGeneric Specification TIA/EIA-4920000-B and Sectional Specification TIA/EIA-492C000, followthe specification structure of the National Electronic Components Quality
30、 Assessment System(NECQ)._1 Scope_This Detail Specification applies to a Class IVa dispersion-unshifted single-mode optical fiberthat has low attenuation at wavelengths near the water peak (typically near 1383 nm). Class IVasingle-mode fiber has a nominal zero-dispersion wavelength in the 1310 nm tr
31、ansmissionwindow. The fiber is commonly referred to as a dispersion-unshifted (or non-shifted) fiber, andits dispersion characteristic is approximated by a differentiated Sellmeier equation (see 4.4.4 ofthe Sectional Specification). This Detail Specification applies to a sub-category of a Class IVaf
32、iber that is termed “Low Water Peak” fiber. These fibers are characterized by having a low, environmentally stable attenuation coefficient in the vicinity of 1383 nmtraditionally referred toas the “water peak.”_2 Normative references_Where applicable, this Detail Specification shall use information a
