、nefits to their organizations, while contributing to the sustainability of the planet. This Standard focuses on the information communications technology (ICT) systems that operate within an occupied, sustainable building. This Standard describes a five-phase approach to planning, implementing and m

、easuring the sustainability impact of an ICT project. This document establishes a benchmark for sustainable energy and materials practices related to ICT systems, while communicating to building occupants that the building owner has carefully developed the project to meet higher sustainability stand

、ards. It also underscores that the technology team of manufacturers, integrator, designers, value added resellers, programmers, and others has created additional value by meeting the specified criteria explained in detail in this Standard. Approval of this Standard This Standard was approved by TIA

、Subcommittee TR 42.10, TIA Engineering Committee TR-42, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). ANSI/TIA reviews standards every 5 years. At that time, standards are reaffirmed, withdrawn, or revised according to the submitted updates. Updates to be included in the next revision should

、 be sent to the committee chair or to ANSI/TIA. Contributing organizations More than 40 organizations within the telecommunications industry (including manufacturers, consultants, end users, and other organizations) contributed their expertise to the development of this Standard. Introduction This document is intended to bring sustainability to the process of planning, designing, integrating and operating ICT systems, as well as reduce long-term environmental impact of ICT system deployment. The document is divided into two categories. The first category is represented by
