Approval of this Addendum This Addendum was approved by TIA Subcommittee TR-42.3, TIA Engineering Committee TR-42

26、, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). ANSI/TIA reviews standards every 5 years. At that time, standards are reaffirmed, withdrawn, or revised according to the submitted updates. Updates to be included in the next revision should be sent to the committee chair or to ANSI/TIA. Docume

27、nts superseded This Addendum supersedes the temperature and humidity requirements in clause 6.2 of ANSI/TIA-569-D. Purpose The purpose of this Addendum is to provide revised temperature and humidity requirements which are harmonized with the guidelines published in ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines for Data

28、 Processing Environments, Fourth Edition. Introduction In 2015 ASHRAE published the fourth edition of Thermal Guidelines for Data Processing Envi-ronments. The major change in this edition was a lowering of both the recommended and al-lowable humidity range for classes A1 through A4. This change was

29、 made after extensive re-search into the effects of low humidity on data processing equipment in data center environ-ments. This addendum aligns the recommended and required minimum humidity with the new AHSRAE guidelines. In addition, several small inconsistencies in table 2 were corrected. ANSI/TI

30、A-569-D-1 1 1 SCOPE This Addendum specifies revised temperature and humidity requirements and recommenda-tions for telecommunications spaces. 2 NORMATIVE REFERENCES The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute pro-visions of this Addendum. At the time

31、of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are en-couraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indi-cated below. ANSI and TIA maintain registers of current

32、ly valid national standards published by them. ASHRAE, Thermal Guidelines for Data Processing Environments, Fourth Edition, 2015 NOTE On April 4, 2016, ASHRAE issued an errata to the above referenced document which corrected errors in the information on which this Addendum is based. 3 DEFINITIONS, A

33、CRONYMS AND ABBREVIATIONS, UNITS OF MEASURE 3.1 General The generic definitions in this clause have been formulated for use by the entire family of tele-communications infrastructure standards. Specific requirements are found in the normative clauses of this Addendum. 3.2 Definitions For the purpose

34、s of this Addendum, the definitions of ANSI/TIA-569-D apply. 3.3 Acronyms and abbreviation For the purposes of this Addendum, the acronyms and abbreviations of ANSI/TIA-569-D and the following apply: DP dew point RH relative humidity 3.4 Units of measure For the purposes of this Addendum, the units

35、of measure of ANSI/TIA-569-D apply. 4 REPLACEMENT OF CLAUSE 6.2 Clause 6.2 and table 2 of ANSI/TIA-569-D are replaced with the following: ANSI/TIA-569-D-1 2 6.2 Temperature and humidity requirements Temperature and humidity in telecommunications spaces shall be controlled to provide continu-ous oper

36、ating ranges for their designated ASHRAE classes as specified in table 2. In addition, for classes A1, A2, A3 and A4, temperature and humidity should be controlled to provide con-tinuous operating ranges as follows: Temperature: 18 27 C (64 81 F) Humidity range, noncondensing: -9 C (16 F) DP to 15 C

37、 (59 F) DP and 60% RH NOTE At high elevations the maximum temperature of table 2 will be lower than and will supersede the recommended maximum above. See note 2 to table 2. See the ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines for Data Processing Environments for more information on ASHRAE classes. CAUTION Users are st

38、rongly advised to consult the ASHRAE Thermal Guide-lines for Data Processing Environments for information on tradeoffs between en-ergy usage and equipment life before selecting a required operating range for classes A1, A2, A3 and A4. The maximum cabling distance for balanced twisted-pair cabling ma

39、y need to be reduced de-pending upon the average temperature of the environment over the length of the cable. See ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 for guidance on cabling installation in higher temperature environments. The temperature and humidity shall be measured while the equipment is in operation. Tempera-ture

40、 and humidity shall be measured at air intakes of operating (powered) equipment. Except in distributor enclosures, temperature and humidity should also be measured at a distance of 1.5 m (5 ft) above the floor level every 3 to 9 m (10 to 30 ft) along the center line of the aisles at the front of the

41、 cabinets or racks. In distributor enclosures the temperature and humidity should also be measured as near as practical to the center of the enclosure. Temperature measurements should be taken at several air intake locations of any equipment with potential cooling problems. Refer to ASHRAE Thermal G

42、uidelines for Data Processing Environments for more detailed guidelines for measuring and evaluating temperatures in telecommunications spaces. NOTE Temperatures at some locations within the space may exceed the val-ues in table 2. See TIA TSB-153 for electrostatic discharge (ESD) mitigation guideli
