、ed in the preparation of this Standard: a. Activating a feature or service that is presently active is an acceptable action and should result in the same response as activating an inactive feature or service. b. Deactivating a feature or service that is presently not active is an acceptable action a
、nd should result in the same response as deactivating an active feature or service. c. Subscribers specifying unknown, unsupported, or inappropriate feature codes and feature code strings should be given feature denial treatment. d. Although user sequences are specified as a sequence of specific dig
、its and keys, MS manufacturers may elect to simplify the sequence (e.g., by using a single key to send an entire sequence of keys). The specified sequence is intended to be representative of the requirements across the Base Station to Mobile Station radio link (air or Uminterface), rather than stric
、tly a user interface requirement. e. Features are described as having an interaction only when the features affect the same originating or terminating leg of a call. That is, an originating feature, such as Calling Number Identification Restriction, cannot interact with a terminating call feature, s
、uch as Call Waiting. This assumption is used to simplify the feature interactions. 1.2 Call Model For the purposes of defining feature operations and interactions within this Standard, a call model is used. This call model is based on a finite state machine. The finite state machine is driven by a s
、et of events. These events cause the finite state machine to perform a set of actions and change the state of the finite state machine. The current call state determines how a given event may perform a different set of actions. The following call states are defined for a mobile subscriber: 1. Idle.
、The controlling subscriber is idle. 2. Alerting. Alerting is applied to the controlling subscriber for an incoming call or a held party recall. 3. 2-way. The controlling subscriber is alerting the other party, or the controlling subscriber is in a two-way conversation with the other party. 4. Adding
、 on. One party is on hold. The system is waiting for the controlling subscriber to enter the address of a third party. 5. Holding 2-way. One party is on hold. The controlling subscriber is alerting the other party, or the controlling subscriber is in a two-way conversation with a third party. 6. 3-w
、ay. A connection is established between the controlling subscriber, a second party and a third party. 33、round and Assumptions 100-2 7. 2-way CW notification. The controlling subscriber is in a two-way conversation with the other party and a third party is waiting to be answered. 8. 2-way CW. The controlling subscriber is in a two-way conversation with the other party and a third party is on hold. 9. C
、onference adding on. Zero or more conferees are on hold and are allowed to converse. The system is waiting for the controlling subscriber to enter the address of a new party. 10. Conference 2-way. Zero or more conferees are on hold and are allowed to converse. The controlling subscriber is alerting
、a new party, or the controlling subscriber is in a two-way conversation with a new party. 11. Conference. A connection is established between the controlling subscriber and one or more conferees. 12. Conference Alerting. A variation on the Alerting state for the Conference Calling feature. The follo
、wing call states are defined for a Remote Feature Control port on an MSC: 50. RFC Idle. The Remote Feature Control feature is idle. 51. RFC Collect DN. The Remote Feature Control feature is collecting a subscriber Directory Number (DN). 52. RFC Collect PIN. The Remote Feature Control feature is coll
、ecting a subscriber RFC PIN Personal Identification Number (PIN). 53. RFC Collect FC. The Remote Feature Control feature is collecting a feature code string. The same states apply to all features, although not all features use all states. A subscriber state table is the composite of the state tables
、 applicable for the subscriber. Since the same action may apply to the same state for more than one feature, precedence between actions is noted in the feature interaction section to determine the system reaction. The exception procedures take precedence over the normal procedures. The following sub
、scriber (and other party) actions are defined: A. Address: A subscriber presses the SEND key with termination address digits. C. Conferee: A conferee requests a disconnect. D. Disconnect: The other party (sometimes a calling party) requests a disconnect. E. End: A subscriber presses the END key. F.
、Feature: A subscriber enters a Feature Code String followed by the SEND key. G. callinG: The calling party sends one or more DTMF digits. H. Held: The held party requests a disconnect. I. Incoming: An incoming call arrives for a subscriber. N. aNswers: The other party answers. TIA-664.100-B 1 2 3 4

Period: A time period expires. S. Send: A subscriber presses the SEND key without digits. T.
、Third: The third party requests a disconnect. U. featUre code: A subscriber enters a Feature Code String, a delimiter digit “#,” and a termination address followed by the SEND key A state transition is described by a two-, three-, or four-part transition identifier (XID) composed of the state number
、 followed by the call party action identifying letter. This may be followed by optional transition qualification codes as: L. aLternative: An alternative procedure transition. X. eXception: An exception procedure transition. For multiple state transitions of the same type, there is a trailing digit
、to uniquely identify the transition within this Standard. For example: 3ALX 1 designates a state transition for: State 3: 2-way. Event A: Address and send. L: Alternative procedure. X: Exception procedure. 1: First occurrence of multiple occurrences within this Standard. TIA-664.100-B 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
