24、-mounted type low-voltage ac integrally fused power circuit breakers, consisting of low-voltage ac power circuit breakers with integral current limiters or fuses. 1.2 effective April 13, 2017 1.3 These requirements apply to low-voltage ac fuse draw-outs consisting of current limiters or fuses in a d

33、 2.2 The term circuit breaker as used in this Standard means low-voltage power circuit breaker, both the ac and dc types. When a requirement applies specically to either an ac or dc type, but not both, the term ac circuit breaker or dc circuit breaker is used. The term fused circuit breaker is used

39、 between a drawout-mounted device and the receiving devices such as individual enclosures, deadfront switchboards, and panelboards an adapter is to be investigated in conjunction with the intended drawout-mounted device. 3 Components Section 3 effective April 13, 2017 3.1 Except as indicated in 3.2,

40、 a component of a product covered by this Standard shall comply with the requirements for that component. See Appendix A for a list of standards covering components generally used in the products covered by this Standard. 3.2 A component need not comply with a specic requirement that: a) Involves a

41、feature or characteristic not needed in the application of the component in the product covered by this Standard, or b) Is superseded by a requirement in this Standard. 3.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions of use. 3.4 Specic components a

42、re incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures not exceeding specied limits, and shall be used only under those specic conditions. 4 Units of Measurement Section 4 effe

45、 comply with IEEE C37.13 or IEEE C37.14 as appropriate, and with the requirements in this Standard. 6.2 A fuse draw-out shall include an open-fuse trip device that will cause tripping of the series circuit breaker, when one or more of the fuses or current limiters opens. 6.3 A fused circuit breaker

46、shall include an open-fuse trip device that will cause tripping of the circuit breaker, when one or more of the fuses or current limiters opens. 6.4 A circuit breaker shall be so formed and assembled that it will have the strength and rigidity necessary to resist the ordinary abuses to which it may

47、be subjected, including the tests specied in these requirements, without increasing the risk of re or electric shock due to partial or total collapse with a resulting loosening or displacement of parts or other serious defects. 7 Corrosion Protection Section 7 effective April 13, 2017 7.1 Iron and s

48、teel parts shall be protected against corrosion by enameling, galvanizing, plating or an equivalent means. Exception: Thermal elements, magnet pole faces, and hardened and polished parts, such as latching surfaces where such protection is impractical, need not be protected. 8 Insulating Materials Se

49、ction 8 effective April 13, 2017 8.1 An insulating material is to be investigated to determine its acceptability for the application with consideration being given to its: a) Mechanical strength, b) Dielectric properties, c) Insulation resistance, d) Tracking resistance, e) Heat-resistant qualities, f) The degree to which it is enclosed or protected, and g) Any other features having a bearing on the risk of re and electric shock involved.
