34、andardizationcomprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of the IEC is topromote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical andelectronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities, the IEC publi

International, governmental andnon-governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this p

36、reparation. The IECcollaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance withconditions determined by agreement between the two organizations.2) The formal decisions or agreements of the IEC on technical matters express, as nearly as possible, aninternation

37、al consensus of opinion on the relevant subjects since each technical committee hasrepresentation from all interested National Committees.3) The documents produced have the form of recommendations for international use and are published inthe form of standards, technical reports or guides and they a

38、re accepted by the National Committees inthat sense.4) In order to promote international unification, IEC National Committees undertake to apply IECInternational Standards transparently to the maximum extent possible in their national and regionalstandards. Any divergence between the IEC Standard an

It provides protection by causing the machine to revert to a safe condition before a person can beplaced in a hazardous situation. This part of International Standard IEC 61496 provides general design and performance requirements ofESPEs for use over a broad range of applications. Essential fea

The application of the ESPEshould be a matter for agreement between the equipment supplier, the machine user and the enforcingauthority; in this context, attention is drawn to the relevant guidance established internationally, forexample ISO/TR 12100.JANUARY 29, 2002 UL 61496-2 9U
