SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 1.1 Descri

3、ption. The gloves shall be leather, clute design, with a 2-piece butterfly thumb, a lined or unlined gauntlet, and a lined palm. The thumb to palm seam shall be covered with a leather strap, stapled with a double or triple row of reinforcement staples. addition may also be sewn. of the thumb. side,

The gloves shall be made from chrome tanned, flesh splits from catt

8、lehide bends, and shall be suitable for use in gloves. sides of the leather shall be smooth and free of loose flesh. Middle splits, head splits, belly splits, and shoulder splits shall not be used. The weight shall be 3 to 4 ounces, except for the gauntlet where a minimum 2-1/2 ounce leather may be

9、used in combination with a gauntlet lining material. The color shall be cream or gray, gloves shall be of the same color. Both The component parts of the leather for each pair of 1.4 Palm lining. The lining for the palms of the gloves shall be unbleached cotton canton flannel fabric napped on one si

When used, the gauntlet lining shall be made of unbleached hard texture cotton duck fabric weighing not less than 17 ounces per square yard, or layers of plain weave cotton or spun polyester fabric laminated together wi

The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms

14、 to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The Government reserves the right to require 2.2 Quality conformance inspec

15、tion. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for hspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 2.3 Visual examination. Each lot of gloves shall be examined for consumer type defects, defined as follows: Defects in design, material, construction, workmanship; -any component full, tight,

17、 I The lot size shall be expressed in units of gloves. The sample unit shall be one glove and the selection shall be by pairs. The inspection level shall be II, and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 6.5. 2.4 Dimensional examination. The fin

18、ished gloves shall conform to the dimensions specified (see 1.2). Any dimension that is not within the established range shall be classified as a defect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of gloves. The sample unit shall be one glove and the inspection shall be Dy pairs. The inspection level

19、shall be S-3, and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. 3. PACKAGING 3.1 Packaging. Five pairs of gloves, each pair alternately reversed finger tips to cuff, shall be evenly stacked in a bundle and securely tied with cotton tape or twine. 3.2 Packing. Forty pairs of

20、 gloves (eight bundles), shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC-L, type CF (variety SW), class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. container shall approximate 28 inches in length, 17 inches in width, and 8-1/2 inches in depth. Approximate dimensions are furnished as

21、 a guide only. Each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet of 30-pound minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to A-A-203. Each container shall be closed in accordance with method II as specified in the appendix of PPP-B-636. Inside dimensions of

22、each shipping 3.3 Palletization. When specified (see 4.21, shipping containers shall be palletized in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. fabricated from wood groups I, II, III or IV of MIL-STD-731. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with the

23、bonding means C and D, or film bonding means F or G. Pallet pattern shall be in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Pallets shall be 3.4 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order, bundles, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be i
