SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 1.1 Design a
2、nd construction. The mountain rescue pulley shall have split halves that enable the user to put the rope in the pulley without having to thread the rope through the pulley. The pulley sides and wheel shall-be fabricated from aluminum. The center bolt shall have a 3/8 inch diameter shaft fabricated f
3、rom steel. The shaft nut shall have a self-locking nylon insert. The pulley wheel shall have roller bearings and be large enough to accommodate a 1/2 inch diameter rope. The snap link hole shall be large enough to accommodate two snap links. Minimum breaking strength shall be 5000 pounds. Maximum we
4、ight shall be 0.5 pounds. Finish shall be black anodized. The manufacturers identification symbol shall be stamped on each pulley assembly, 2, QUALITY ASSURANCE 2.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient character
5、istics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may b
6、e otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 2.2 Visual examination. Each lot of pulleys shall be inspected in accordance with MIL-STD-105. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. The lo
7、t size shall be expressed in units of pulleys. The sample unit shall be one pulley. The pulleys shall be examined for the defects listed below: Beneficial comments, recommendations, additions, deletions, clarifications, etc. and any data which may improve this document should be sent to: Commander,

10、other parts do not rotate freely through 360 degrees rotation; markings in wrong location, incomplete, illegible, incomplete, or not as specified, 2.3 Dimensional examination. The pulleys shall be examined without damaging or disassembling the pulleys. Any dimension not within the specified toleranc
11、es shall be classified as a defect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of pulleys. The sample unit shall be one pulley. The inspection level shall be S-3 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. 3. PACKAGING 3.1 Packaging. Each pulley shall be completely wrap
12、ped in kraft paper. Eight wrapped pulleys shall then be packed in a snug-fitting intermediate fiberboard box fabricated from 200-pound test corrugated fiberboard. 3.2 Packing. Eighty pulleys, packaged as specified, shall be packed in a snug- fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to style
13、RSC, type CF, class domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. The shipping container shall be completely filled with no voids and be of a size that can be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147. Each shipping container shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. 3.3 Palletization. When
14、specified (see 4.2), pulleys packed as specified, shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means C and D, or film bonding means F or G, in accordance wit
15、h MIL-STD-147. 3.4 Marking. In addition to any special markings required by the contractor or purchase order, unit packs, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129, 4.
