SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 1.1 Design and construction. The full-b
2、ody harness shall be made from 1-3/4 inch width minimum nylon webbing and shall be adjustable in the chest area from at least 34 to 36 inches in circumference. The harness shall be adjustable in the upper thigh area from at least 19 to 25 inches in circumference. The harness shall be adjustable to f
3、it climbers ranging in height from at least 65 to 71 inches tall. The harness shall have two ice axe/hammer holsters and a sling for attaching equipment. The harness shall be furnished in one size and shall be approved by The International Union of Alpine Associations (UIAA). The color shall be blac
4、k. 2. QUALITY ASSURANCE 2.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications,
5、 standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 2.2 Visual examination. Each lot of harnesses shall be inspected in accord
6、ance with MIL-STD-105, The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. The lot size shall be expressed in units of harnesses. The sample unit shall be one harness. The harnesses shall be examined for the defects

The harnesses shall be examined without damaging or disassembling the harnesses, Any dimension not within the specified tolerances shall be classified as a defect, The lot size shall be expressed in units of ha
10、rnesses. The sample unit shall be one harness. The inspection level shall be S- 3 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. I 3. PACKAGING 3.1 pack shall be snug-fitting and fabricated from clear polyethylene film that is heat sealed on at least three sides and clos
11、ed on the fourth side. Packaging. One complete harness shall be packaged to a unit pack. The unit 3.2 Packing. Twelve harnesses, packaged as specified, shall be packed in a close-fitting RSC style corrugated fiberboard shipping container conforming to type CF, class domestic, grade 200 of PPP-B-636.
12、 The shipping container shall be completely filled with no voids and of a size that can be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147. Each shipping container shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. 3.3 Palletization. When specified (see 4.2), harnesses, packed as specified, sha
13、ll be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary in accordance with bonding means C and D, or film bonding means F or G, in accordance with MIL-STD-147. 3.4 Marking. In addition to any special marki
14、ngs required by the contract or purchase order, unit packs, shipping containers and palletized loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 4. NOTES 4,l Intended use. The full-body harness is intended to be worn while mountain climbing to arrest falls when used in conjunction with mountain
15、climbing ropes. 4.2 Ordering data, Acquisition documents should specify the following: a, Title, number, and date of this document. b.
