SCOPE This CID cover
2、s a bracket assembly used for securing 5 gallon liquid containers to military vehicles. The assembly consists of a bracket And a strap assembly. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2,1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the applicable engineering drawing (AED), . the material used shall be i
3、n accordance with the manufacturers material specifications/drawinys. The use of recovered material made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are met (see 5.4). 2. I. 1 Carbon steel. The bracket shall be made of carbon steel, hot rolled
4、 or cold rolled (2 millimeters (mm) nominal thickness), drawing quality temper 4 or 5, Unified Numbering System (UNS) GlOOSO through G10200 in the form of sheet or strip (see 5.1.2). Except as specified herein, the bracket assembly shall be designed and constructed in accordance with drawing number 6566675 and its
8、referenced drawinss 7064504 and 8690527 (see engineering parts list EPL6566675). Welds shall be of the resis
9、tance spot weld type as shown on the AED. Prior to welding, the parts shall be appropriately cleaned and coated with an epoxy based zinc rich weld throuyh primer or an equivalent suitable primer. 2.3 Weld strength. The weldment of a simulated specimen shall be separated by driving a chisel between t
10、he welded components in an unwelded area or by peeling one sheet back against the weld until failure occurs around the periphery of the weld or until the part fails. Failure of the base metal outside the weld area shall be evidence that the welds are satisfactory. The mininlum button diameter, as me
11、asured in two perpendicular directions of the faying surface, shall be 6 mm. 2.4 Protective finish. CIeaning, pretreating, priming, and painting of the bracket assembly shall conform to an appropriate CARC paint system selected from drawing number 12369000 for external applications. Color of paint f
12、inal top coat shall be green 383 (see 5.1.1). 2.5 Identification markines. Identification marking shall be placed on the bracket assembly as shown in figure 1. It shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum, the manufacturers identification code (CAGE), manufacturers part number a
13、nd the part identification number (PIN) A525 13- l. 3. OUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 3.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests). 3.2 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certifjr and maintain substantiati
14、ng evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Gover
15、nment reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING. PACKING. LABELING. AND MARKING. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking for the
16、desired level shall be as specified in the contract (see 5.2). 5. NOTES. Recovered material is material made in conformance to section 402 of the Clean Air Act (33 U.S.C. 1342 et. seq.).
