2、s. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers two sizes of oilers for use in the air lines of pneumatic tools. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The oilers shall be the following sizes, as specified (see 7.1): Size 1 - 1/4 liter (U2 pint) Size 2 - 1/2 liter (1 pint) 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 DescriDtion. The oilers shall atom
3、ize ,-id feed, in any position, any lubricant or liquid grease which is suitable for use in pneumatic tools in the temperature range of 43 degrees Celsius (“C) (1 10 degrees Fahrenheit (“F) to -32OC (-25F). The oilers shall be equipped with an adjustable oil-metering valve and an oil-filler plug. 3.
4、2 Material. Material shall be of the contractors current commercial product and shall be subjected to all provisions of this specification. 3.2.1 Material deterioration and control. The oilers shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosion resistant or treated to provide protect
5、ion against the various forms of corrosion and deterioration that may be encountered in any of the applicable storage and operating environments to which the item may be exposed. Beneficial comments, recommendations, additions, deletions clarifications, etc. and any other data which may improve this

Dissimilar metais shall not be used in intimate contact with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion. 3.2.1.2 Identification of materials and finishes. The contractor shall iden the specific m
8、aterial, material finish or treatment for use with components and sub-components, and shall make information available, upon request, to the contracting officer or designated representative. 3.2.2 Inserts. When the body of the oiler is aluminum, threaded steel inserts shall be used for the oil-filte
9、r and oil-regulator access holes and for the air line connections. 3.3 Temperature conditions. The oilers shall perform as specified herein in any ambient temperature from 38OC (1 00F) to -32OC (-25F) when filled with pneumatic-tool lubricant of viscosity suitable for the particular operating temper
10、ature. 3.4 Oil-metering; valve. The oil-metering valve shall be removable for cleaning and repairing and shall permit adjustment of the lubricant flow without taking the pressure off the air chamber or interrupting the operation of the pneumatic tool. 3.4.1 Locking device. The lubricator shall be su
11、pplied with a locking or tamper-proof, adjusting knob, which shall prevent oil flow changes resuIting from shock or vibration. 3.5 Oil-filler ulug. An oil-filler plug shall be provided with a hole for bleeding-off pressure inside the oil chamber before threads are disengaged. 3.6 Hvdrostatic pressur
12、e. The oilers shall withstand a hydrostatic pressure of 1034 kilopascals (kPa) (1 50 pounds per square inch (psi) with no sign of leaks or deformation. 3.7 Performance. 3.7.1 Pressure drou. The pressure drop across the oiler shall not exceed 35 a (5 psi) with accessories in place. 3.7.2 Pumping. The
13、re shall be no unatomized lubricant or excessive lubricant discharged beyond the normal atomized flow each time the valve is opened. 3.7.3 Flow. The oiler shall atomize a sufficient amount of lubricant to any tool that may be used in any position. 3.7.4 Lubricant leakage. There shall be no lubricant

The oiler shall provide constant and ample lubrication to the working parts of pneumatic
15、 tools with an air supply as low as 0.28 liter per min (l/min) (10 cubic feet per minute (cfm). The inlet and outlet shall be threaded as specified in the contract or order. When specified (see 7. i), the oiler shall have universal, quick-disconnect-type hose couplings for both the inlet and outlet
16、connections. I 3.9 Size 2 (i/ 2 Iiter capac it?). The oiler shall provide constant and ample lubrication to the working parts of pneumatic tools with an air supply as low as 1.13 Vmin (40 cfm). Threads shall be provided for both the inlet and outlet connections as specified in the contractor or orde
17、r. When specified (see 7.11, the oiler shall have universal, quick-disconnect-type hose couplings for both the inlet and outlet connections. 3.9.1 Bose assembl y. When specified (7.1), the oiler shall be provided with 3 meters (m) (10 feet (ft) of 19 millimeters (mm) (3/4-inch) air hose, and univers
18、al, quick-disconnect-type hose couplings for both ends. 3.10 Ycdmansh g. The quality of workmanship shall be such as to produce oilers that are in accordance with the requirements of this CID and are so constructed as to insure proper functioning of all parts of the oiler. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered 4.1 rnonsibrlit- v for insoect materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). . 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS . 5.1 Contrac tor certifi cation. The contractor
20、shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient Characteristics of this CID, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of su
21、ch conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 6. PACKAGING.
