2、em description as a replacement for MIL-T-47014 for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers one type of heat reflective aluminum foil tape with pressure sensitive adhesive suitable for high temperature applications (see 6.1). 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Material. The tape shall consist o

3、f a dead soft reflective aluminum foil substrate, coated on the back with a pressure sensitive adhesive which withstands 500 degree Fahrenheit (260 degree Celsius) temperatures, in roll form wound on a core. 2.2 Performance characteristics 2.2.1 Tensile strensth. The tensile strength of the tape sha

4、ll not be less than 14 pounds per inch of width (245 Newtons per 100 millimeters of width) when tested in accordance with ACTM-D3759. 7、idth (16 Newtons per 100 millimeters of width) when tested in accordance with ASTM-D3330. When applied to a standard steel surface and exposed to a temperature of not less than 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius) for not less than 60 hours and returned to room temperature, the tape shall ha

8、ve a peel adhesion of not less than 10 ounces per inch of width (11 Newtons per 100 millimeters of width) when tested in accordance with ASTM-D3330. 2.2.3 Shelf life. The shelf life of the tape shall not be less than 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the manufacturers packaging a

9、t a temperature no higher than 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius) and no more than 50% relative humidity. 2.3 Phvsical Properties. 2.3.1 Dimensions. 2.3.1.1 Thickness. The aluminum foil shall be 0.002 f 0.001 inch (0.051 * 0.025 millimeter) thick and the total tape thickness shall be 0.004 f

10、 0.001 inch (0.102 I 0.025 millimeter) when tested in accordance with ASTM-D3652. 2.3.1.2 Width and lensth. The tolerance on the width shall be f1/32 inch (f0.8 millimeter) and the average roll length in any order shall not be less than the specified amount. The length and width shall be as specifie

11、d in the contract or order (see 6.2). 2.3.1.3 cores. Diameter. The tape shall be wound on standard 3 inch inside diameter 2.3.2 Surface finish. The foil surface shall be shiny and reflective, either dry annealed or slick annealed. 2.3.3 WorkmanshiD. The tape shall be free of dirt, foreign material,

12、or other contaminants. The tape rolls shall be cleanly slit and evenly wound. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. QUALITY ASS

13、URANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial

14、market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 4.2 Market accemabilitv. The market acceptability criteria shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 5. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 2 Prov

The tape is intended for use as a heat reflective shield capable of withstanding sustained exposure up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius) and surviving temporary ex

16、posure up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit (538 degrees Celsius) . 6.2 Orderins data. Procurement documents should specify the following: a. Title, number and date of this commercial item description. b. Issue of Department of Defense Index of Standards and Specifications (DODISS) to be cited in the solic

17、itation, and if required, the specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 6.3). c. Width and length required (see 2.3.1.2). d. Market acceptability criteria, if required (see 4.2). e.
