SCOPE. This Commercial Item Descr
2、iption (CID) covers one grade of diethylphthalate for use in military explosives. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Materials. The diethylphthalate shall be provided in the quantity specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 2.1.1 Ester content. The ester content, as diethylphthalate, shall be 99.0
3、 percent minimum (min. ) . 2.1.2 SDecific sravitv. The specific gravity of the diethylphthalate shall be 1.12 f 0.01 at 15 degrees C/15 degrees C in accordance with ASTM 0891. 2.1.3 Aciditv. The acidity, as phthalic acid, shall be.0.03 percent, maximum (max.) when tested in accordance with ASTM D104
4、5. 2.1.4 m. The ash content of a 10 gm. sample shall be 0.01 percent, max. when tested in accordance with American Chemical Society (ACS) Specifications “Reagent Chemicals I . 2.1.5 Color. The color of a 25 ml. sample of the product shall compare to the color of 0.5 ml. of 0.1 N iodine solution, tho
5、roughly mixed into 100 ml. of distilled water. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
