1、I A-A-59605 SeDtember 19, 2000 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION PAN ROASTING, AND SHEET PAN: ALUMINUM, WITH NO-STICK COATED FINISH The General Services Administrstion has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID), for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This commercial item descr
2、iption (CID) covers an aluminum coated roasting pan and an aluminum coated sheet pan with a no-stick coated finish. 1.2 Intended use. The pans are used for cooking, baking and roasting in field kitchens, and navy ship galleys. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classification. The pans shall be of the following
3、types, as specified (see 7.1). 5、CS 3.1 Design and construction. 3.1.1 Type I roasting pan. The roasting pan shall be fabricated from 3004-0 anodizing quality aluminum alloy and shall have two corrosion-resistant steel strap reinforcements. The strap reinforcements shall be 1 inch wide by 0.095 inch thick. The aluminum alloys used
6、to fabricate the pan shall conform to ASTM Standard B 209. The pan shall have a no-stick coating(see 3.3) applied to the inside surface only. The coating shall be applied from a licensed DuPont coater, and shall conform to NSF International Standard No.2 (see 5.3). 3.1.1.1 Handles. The roasting pan
7、shall have two handles positioned in the center of the ends and shall be formed of 9/32 inch diameter wire corrosion-resistant steel rod. The handles shall be fastened securely to the pan and shall not fail or permanently deform when the pan is load tested as specified in 5.4. The outside dimensions
8、 of the roasting pan handles shall be 4 inches wide by 1-1/4 inch minimum inside opening for hand clearance. 3.1.2 Type II sheet pan. The sheet pan shall be fabricated from 3003-H25 aluminum alloy and shall have a rolled edge that is formed using a 1/4 inch zinc plated carbon steel bead wire to prov
9、ide rigidity, warp and rust resistance. The pans shall be fabricated with a 0.141 inch crown or concavity at center to allow the pan to flatten when heated for even heat distribution. The aluminum alloys used to fabricate the pans shall conform to ASTM Standard B 209. The pans shall have a no-stick
10、coating (see 3.3) applied to the inside surface only. The coating shall be applied from a licensed DuPont coater, and shall conform to NSF International Standard No. 2 (see 5.3). 3.2 Dimensions 3.2.1 Type I pan. The outside dimensions of the roasting pan shall be 24 inches by 18 inches by 4-19/32 in
11、ches high. Tolerances shall be k 1/32 inch. Thickness of the aluminum alloy shall be 16 gauge. The out
12、side dimensions of the sheet pan shall be 17-26/32 inches by 25-25/32 inches by 1 inch deep. Tolerances shall be k 1/32 inch. Thickness of the aluminum alloy shall be 16 gauge. The corners of the sheet pan shall have a 1/8 inch inside radius. 3.3 Coating. The coating shall be a DuPont process that c
13、onsists of three layers: primer, midcoat, and topcoat. The total coating dry film thickness shall be 1.1 - 1.5 mils. 3.4 Workmanship. The finished pans, shall be free of cracks, dents, malformation, or deep scratches. All burrs, slivers, splinters, sharp edges, dirt, grease, and foreign matter shall
14、 be removed. 3.5 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of ASTM E 380. 4. REGULATORY R
15、EQUIREMENTS 4.1 Contractor recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The pans provid
16、ed shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of s

The following market acceptability cri
18、teria are necessary to document the quality of the pans to be provided under this commercial item description. a. The company producing these pans, excluding the coating, must have been producing these pans for a least 10 years, and must have been producing coated pans for at least 2 years, to meet
19、the requirements of this CID. b. The company must have sold at least 2500 pans meeting the requirements of this CID in the commercial marketplace over the last 2 years. 5.3 NSF International standard compliance. Prior to approval of the first shipment contractor shall submit satisfactory evidence to
20、 the contracting officer or his authorized representive that the coating conforms to the applicable requirements of NSF International Standard No. 2. Acceptable evidence shall be a certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory acceptable to the medical authority of the servi
21、ce for which the the items are being procured, stating that the items coating has been tested and conforms to NSF International Standard No. 2. Acceptance of the independent testing laboratory to the medical authority shall be based on the laboratory submitting to the contracting officer a written l
22、etter from either the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), Gaithersburg, MD, or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Washington, DC stating that the independent test laboratory has been evaluated and is accredited for testing and evaluating food service equipment fo
23、r conformance with applicable NSF International Standards. Accreditation of the independent testing laboratory must be completed prior to the item testing. 5.4 Load test. The type I pan shall be uniformly loaded to 130 pounds(inc1uding the weight of the pan) and lifted three times by the two end han
24、dles from floor to a table height of 36 inches, I3 inches. The handle assembly shall be examined to determine compliance with 3.1.1.1.
