SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document covers an adapter kit for

14、ng in this document, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3, REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.3). 3.2 Compo

16、ach 1 each 3.3 Component characteristics (see 6.4). 3,3.1 Adapter, M-1 cap. The M-1 cap adapter shall conform to Drawing 2-9-328. 3.3.2 Cap, canteen, M-l. The M-1 canteen cap shall conform to MIL-C-51278. 3.3.3 Strap. The strap shall conform to the applicable requirements of MIL-C-43103 and Drawing

17、8-1-34. 3.3.4 Adhesive, epoxy. The epoxy adhesive shall be a two-part resin and hardener packet weighing approximately 2 grams and conforming to TRA-BOND BAFDA -2 or equal (see 6.5). one month or less at the time of assembly of the adapter kit. The razor blade shall be a single edge safety type, industrial use, carbon steel with cutting edge protected. 33.6 Cloth, eme

19、ry. The emery cloth shall be commercial grade, 80 grit, approximately 2 inches by 4 inches. 3.3.7 Packet, alcohol. The alcohol packet shall consist of a sealed container enclosing a pad saturated with 70-percent isopropl alcohol conforming to PDI Catalog No.-B60301 or equal (see 6.6); 3.3.8 Instruct

20、ion sheet. The instruction sheet shall conform to figure 1 in all respects. It shall be printed on white bond paper 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches conforming to JCP-A-60, 120 pound weight basis 25 by 38 inches per 1000 sheets. The instruction sheet shall be folded once in half lengthwise and twice from t

21、op to bottom with a finish size of 2-3/4 inches by 4-1/4 inches. The identification information in the upper left hand corner of the instruction shall be visible after folding. 3.3.9 Bag, plastic, The plastic bag shall conform to type II, style 1 of PPP-B-26. The film shall be natural and clear with

22、 a minimum thickness of 0.004 inch. Inside dimensions of the bag shall be approximately 5 inches by 8 inches. 3.4 Assembly of M-1 cap, adapter, and strap. The M-1 cap, adapter, and strap shall be assembled as follows: a. Secure the strap to the cap with the 1arge.diameter hole of the b. Screw the ca

23、p on the adapter. c. Position the frqe end of the strap over the end of the adapter strap firmly seated in the groove at the bottom of the cap. and firmly seat it in the groove on the adapter. 3.5 Assembly of kit components in plastic bag. All components of the kit shall be arranged within the plast

24、ic bag. The bag shall be closed by heat- sealing. Prior to or during the heat-sealing closure operation, excess air within the bag shall be expelled. 3.6 WorkmanshiE. The adapter kit shall conform to the quality of product established by this document and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed t

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contr.act or purchase order, the contractor is

26、 responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapprove

27、d by the Government. The Government reserves the right to-pe:rform any of the inspections set forth in this document where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform-to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requiremen

28、ts of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this document shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the document shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or su

29、pplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampl- ing in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. 4.1.2 Certif

30、icate of compliance. When certificates of compliance are sub- mitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Classification of inspection, The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article ins

31、pection (see 4.3) b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection, men a first article is required (see 6.2), it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.3. defect shall be cause for rejection of the first article. 32、ction. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall. be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4,4,1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise

The contractor shall furnish a certif

34、icate of compliance for the requirement specified in 3.3.4 for the adhesive and in 3.3.7 for the alcohol packet. 4.4.2 Adapter dimensional examination. 4.4.2.1 Initial production examination of adapters. Two adapters shall be selected at random from the initial lot produced from each mold or die to

35、be used in production. The two adapters shall be measured for all dimensions specified on Drawing 2-9-328. shall be considered a defect. The presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection of the adapter and the mold or die from which it was produced and for rejection of all adapters pr

36、oduced from that mold. The mold or die shall be reworked as necessary and another lot of adapters shall be produced and examined as above. Any dimension not meeting the specified tolerance 4.4.2.2 Subsequent production examination of adapters. Except when changes are made to the contractors manufact

37、uring process or the mold or die is changed, subsequent production lots of the adapter shall be dimensionally examined for the dimensions annotated with an asterisk on Drawing 2-9-328. Any dimension exceeding the applicable tolerance shall be considered a defect. The sample unit shall be one adapter

38、. The inspection level shall be S-3 and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. If the contractor changes the manufacturing process or the mold or die, the initial production lot of the adapters involving the change shall be examined as spec

39、ified in 4.4.2.1. 4.4.3 End item visual examination. The end item shall be examined for the defects listed in table I. The lot size shall be expressed in units of adapter kits. The sample unit shall be one adapter kit. The inspection level shall be I and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hu

40、ndred units, shall be 4.0. NOTE: This examination shall be performed on adapter kits completely sealed within the plastic bag. The fully packaged end items shall be examined or thedefects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of shipping c

Five adapter kits, assembled as specified in 3.5, shall be unit packed in a paperboard box conforming to variety 1, style IV, type I or J, class i or style VIII, type G, class i of PPP-B-566.
