This specification covers various sizes of intermodal container van bodies intended for the installation of a variety of operating equipment. The van bodies are modified refrigerated XSO (Inter national

Contact, galvanic and electrolytic action between dissimilar metals, as defined in ML-T-704, sha
37、ll be prevented by the application of zinc chromate primer conformng to TT-P-1757 to each of the metal surfaces or by insulation of one surface, from the other surface by application of an elastomer gasket, electrical tape, or other effective means, preventing any direct contact. The separation of t
38、he surfaces shall be not less than 2 mils. compounds shall not be used nor shall tape be used of the type that bunches between the metal surfaces during hole drilling operations. The material selected for ceiling, walls, front end, and larger rear 2/3 door (excluding personnel and other doom) shall, have a noise reduction coefficient (WC) value of

Ferrous components and parts o the basic van body, if furnished, shall be of corrosion-resistant steel or protected from corrosion by application marine type of plating. 3.5 Environmental conditions. 3.5.1 Operational temperatures. The van bodies shall not be damage
41、d during operation and transport in any ambient air temperature between minus 40 F and plus 120 F. 3.5.2 The van bodies shall not leak water inta the interior of the van bodies when exposed to rain ranging from a drizzle to a heavy rain of 1/4 gallon per minute per square foot of wetted surface impi
42、nging on the van body with a 30 mph wind and when transported on a TOFC railroad car during rain conditions, the precipitation, the equipment shall operate as specified herein. Where incorrect installation of an item could cause malfunction af that item or of the system in which it is installed, an unsymnetxical mounting means shall be provided or the mating parts
