The design and con

10、struction shall permit the inaertion of film holders, film magazine, and film pack adapters into place for operation, and shall provide a light-tight housing when the film container is in place for operation. Means shall be provided for the rigid at- tachment of a flashgun ; the rangefinder housing

11、shall not be used as a base to sup- port the flashgun bracket. The flashgun bracket shall be anchored to the camera body with machine screws engaging threaded metal inserts, c4.1 P.ictwe area. The camera shall be designed to provide an unobstructed picture area not less than 31a/, by 4% inches. 3.4.

12、2 Camera boap. The camera body shall be suficiently strong and rigid to maintain smooth functioning of all operating parts and proper alinement of the lens assembly rind the film plane during the entire life of the camera. 3.4.3 Haw stmp. The camera body shall be provided with a comfortable hand str

13、ap made of moisture and fungus resistant ma- terial designed to enable the operator to support the camera with the left hand when making hand held exposures, and strong enough to withstand rough usage. The strap shall be adjustable for different sized hands and shall be readily attachable and detach

14、- able.without the use of special tools. It shall be conveniently located and securely at- tached to the left side of the camera body by means of metal brackets, which will ac- cept the hand strap or the battery case clamps, The hand strap or brackets shall not interfere with the function of the cam

15、era under the operating conditions for which the camera is designed. A snap type clip, located at the bottom of the strap, shall be provided to permit unobstructed accessibility to the dde tripod socket. 3,4,4 Catnera bodg pads. The base of the camera shall be equipped with pads or feet to protect t

16、he bearing surface of the cam- era and to prevent marring of the surface upon which it is placed. 3.4.5 Tpipod sockets. The camera body shall be equipped with two tripod sockets. The sockets shall be located where they will most effectively support the open camera when it is placed on the tripod for

17、 operation in either a vertical or a horizontal position. The tripod sockets shall be provided with r/,-20-UNC-lB threads and shall be in ac- cordance with Standard ASA PH3.6-1952. 3.4.6 Cantem back. The camera body shall be provided with an easily removable back and slide locks to retain the automa

18、tic film magazine in position. 3.4.6.1 Focusing panel, The focusing panel shall be mounted on the rear of the camera and provided with a spring mounted section which moves outward for the insertion of the film carrier. The spring tension shall be sufficient to hold the film carrier firmly in its pro

19、per position in the focal plane. The back shall accommodate and hold securely in place sheet film holders, sheet film magazines, and film pack adapters. An Ektalite Field Lens, or equal, shall be provided as part of the facusing panel to brighten the ground glass screen image at the edges. 3.4.6.2 G

20、round glass focusing screen. A ground glass focusing screen shall be pro- vided as part of the focusing panel. The screen shall be positioned for accurate fo- cusing of the image at the film plane. The focusing screen shall be capable of being easily removed or replaced without the use of special to

21、ols. 3.4.6.3 Viewng hood. The focusing panel shall be provided with an easily removable, collapsible, self-erecting viewing hood. The viewing hood when collapsed, shall cover and protect the ground-glass focusing screen. 3.4.6.4 Dark slide retainer. A retainer shall be provided on the camera back to

It shall not interferse with the opera- tion of the camera in an

23、y manner or the placing of the camera in its carrying case. 3.4.6.5 Depth-of-field chad. A depth-of- field chart, on a suitable non-corrosive metal plate, shall be provided in a convenient place on either the viewing hood or the camera body. The chart shall be correct for the focal length and range

24、of stops of the stand- ard lens supplied with the camera. The circle of confusion of l/z5io of an inch shall be used to compute the depth-of-field chart. 3.4.7 Camera bed. A positive locking bed shall be provided as an enclosure for the front of the camera body. The bed shall be capable of being hel

25、d firmly at a 90 degree position, and if necessary, at any other posi- tion for use with the wide angle lens. The design of the bed shall be such that it shall not fall within the field of an 88 millimeter (mm) focal length wide-angle lens, yet shall permit easy operation of the means provided for f

26、ine focusing of the ens. A spring catch, or other suitable means, located on the cam- era body in such a position as to minimize accidental dropping of the bed, shall be pro- vided to hold the bed firmly in its closed position. A simple pressure type latch re- lease shall be provided on the camera f

27、or opening the camera. The bed shall be pro- vided with focusing rails, a focusing scale, knurled focusing controls, and a focusing rail lock. 3.4.7.1 Focusing rails. Focusing rails shall be provided on the camera bed. They shall be mounted in such a manner that when the lens is placed at the front

28、c?f the rails it may be moved at least 12 inches from the focal plane. The rails shall be longitudinally mov- able by rotation of the focusing control. 3.4.7.1.1 Infinity stop. A positive locking infinity stop shall be provided on the focus- ing rails to prevent travel of the lens board standard bey

29、ond the infinity position of the lens. The infinity stop shall be adjustable so that it may be moved to the correct position for various focal length lenses. It shall also provide a means whereby the lens board standard may be moved to the front end of the rails, past the infinity stops, without re-

30、 moving the stops. 3,4:7.2 Focusiag seule. Focusing scales and indices designed for convenient reading shall be provided to facilitate focusing of each of the lenses furnished with the camera. When read against the index, the scale shall indi- cate the distance from the focal plane to the object in

31、sharpest focus. A minimum of eight graduations marked in feet and one infinity graduation shall be legibly and per- manently marked on the scale, The markings shall conform with the applicable require- ments of Standard ASA STD: PH3.20-1955 and shall include 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, 50, 100 feet and infinit

32、y. 3.4.7.3 Focusiig con.trols. A focusing con- trol shall be provided for moving the focus- ing rails longitudinally in the focusing of the camera. Operation of th focusing control shall be by the rotation of a pair of knurled knobs conveniently located on the sides of the drop bed. The focusing con

33、trols shall be smooth, positive in operation, and shall not bind or become loose. A friction lock for securing the mechanism at any desired posi- tion along the bed shall be provided. 3.4.8 Lens lioald standnid. A rigidly.con- structed lens board standard shall be pro- vided which will receive and h

34、old the lens board in correct alinement when clamped, The standard shall be capable of being re- tracted into the camera body to permitclos- ing of the camera drop bed. The lens board standard shall be provided with a posit.ivc clamping device that shall be capable of firmly hoIding the standard par

35、allel with the back of the camera, at any position along the length of the focusing rails. Operation of the clamping device shall be by a readily accessible hand control. The lens board standard shall be designed to provide an ad- justment for raising the lens unit-vertically from O inches to 11/8 i

The lens board standard shall be so designed and constructed as to permit the lens unit to be tilted to correct for image distortion without removing the infinity stop from its position on the rails, 3.4.9 Bellows. The camera shall be pro- vided with a suitable bellows that will per- mit t

38、he lens board standard to be moved to the limit of travel along the track. When fully extended the bellows shall not inter- fere with the normal use of the adjustment of the lens board standard. The bellows shall be attached to the front standard of the camera and camera body. Crimping shall not be

39、used as the method of attachment of the belIows, The bellows shall not sag so as to interfere with the picture, The bellows shall be made of a suitable moisture and fungus resistant material and shall be light-tight with the camera and lens board standard in any position. 3.5 Lens assembly. The came

40、ra shall be provided with a coated anastigmat f/4.7 or faster, 127mm, plus or minus 2 percent, lens conforming to the requirements for a Type III lens in Standard MILSTD-150.
