The first article shall be subjected to quality conformance inspections specifi- fied herein and such other inspection as is necessary to determine compliance with the requirements of the contract. I
5、I 4.5.1 Examinations. I requirements of the provisions of this specification, MIL-C- 13931, SQAI I in LSQAP 7238508 and SQAP-APPENDIX-UT. Unless otherwise specified, inspection to determine compliance with cleaning, preservation, packaging, packing and marki
9、ng requirements of the applicdbie packaging data sheets for the level designated in the contract shall be as specified in MIL-P-14232. 4.5.2 Tests. 4.5.2.1 $laterialS. Haterials used in the manufacture of the subcaliber cannons shall be tested in accordance with the material specifications reference
10、d on the part drawings. - x 4.5.2.2 Magnetic particle inspection. Nagnetic particle inspection, when specified on a drawing, shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM-E138. 4.5.2.3 Bearing surfaces. Surfaces of the deflector and tube assembly for which bearing is specified shall be visually examine
11、d to assure that the deflector bears against the external shoulder on the muzzle end of the subcaliber tube. (3ee 3.4.1). 4.5.2.4 Functioning tests. 4.5.2.4.1 Extractor. The extrzctor shall be manually moved through its entire range of movement to determine compliance with 3.4.2. 4.5.2,4.2 Extractio

Extraction shall be tested, with the subcaliber cannon inserted in the howitzer, using an empty service cartridge case to determine compliance with the requirements of 3.3.2. 4.5.2.4.3 Inspection at the proving ground. 4.5.2.4.3.1 Inspection procedures. Unless otherwise specified, the f
13、ollowing inspections (examinations and tests) shall conform to the following applicable paragraphs in MIL-C- 13931: (a) Inspection before proof firing. (b) Proof firing. - (c) Inspection after proof firing. (d) Proof marking. I . 4.5.2.4.4 Proof firing. Each subcaliber cannon shall be fired in accor
14、dance with Table II. The standard weight projectile weighs 1.21 pounds. If in the judgment of the Proof Firing Director, the results of the round specified in Table II are questionable or inconclusive, additional rounds having pressures not exceedi
16、ng that in Table II may be fired. 4.5.2.5 Inspection after proof-firing. Unless otherwise specified, the inspection after proof-firing as specified in MIL-C-13931 shall apply. 4.5.2.5.1 Material soundness. After proof-firing, all parts shall be examined visually for cracks and fractures. be cause fo
17、r rejection, In addition, all tubes and deflectors shall be magnet c particle tested in accordance with ASTM-E138 for compliance with the soundness requirements specified on the applicable drawings. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1,1), responsibility for acquisition, maintenance and disposition of acceptance inspection and test equipment a
21、nd for all other inspection equipment required to perform inspection prescribed by appiicdbie specifications, shall be in accordance with MIL-1-45607. 4.5.3.2 Accuracy of standard measuring equipment. idhen commercial and modified commercial inspection and test equipment is used, it shall be capable
22、 of repeti- tive measurements to an accuracy of 10 percent of the total tolerance of the characteristic being inspected, 4.5.4 Inspection approval stamp. The cannon shall be unit packaged, packed, and marked in accordance with the requirements of Packaging Data sheet 7238508 for the level of protection specified in the contract (see 6.1). n .? 5-3 Repair pa?&.
