REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Samples. 3.1.1 Standard sample. The cotton duck cloth shall match the standard sample for shade and shall be equal to or better th
16、an the standard sample with respect to all characteristics for which the standard sample is referenced (see 6.3). 3.1.2 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). f 3.2 Materials. Recycled material
17、 may be used (see 6.5). 3.2.1 Cloth, duck, cotton. The cloth s
18、hall be dyed Olive Drab 7 to match the standard sample (see 6.3) and shall conform to type I, class B of CCC-D-950 3.2.2 Tape, cotton. The tape shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 to match the standard sample (see 6.3) and shall conform to type I, class 4, 3/4 inch width of MIL-T-43566 I 3.2.3 Webbing, cotto
19、n. The webbing shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 to match the standard sample (see 6.3) and shall conform to type IIb, class 4, 2 1/4 L inch width of MIL-W-530. 3.2.4 Thread, polyester. The polyester thread shall be type I, class 1, subclass B of V-T-285. The thread sizes shall be as follows: a* For all st
20、itching, except binding and overedge stitching, use b. For binding and overedge stitching, use size E. size FF. 3.2.4.1 Color. The thread shall be dyed shade S-1 (Cable No. 66022) and shall show fastness to chlorine bleaching equal to or better than the standard sample (see 6.3). If no standard samp
21、le is available, the thread shall show “good“ fastness to chlorine bleaching. 3.2.5 Fasteners, snap The snap fasteners shall conform to style 2, finish 2 of MIL-F-10884. The female components shall be socket and size 1 or 2, 24-line button, and the male components shall be stud and size 1 or 2 eyele
22、t. 3.2.6 Keepers, with slide. The keepers shall be steel, black in color, and shall conform to type X of MIL-I-9890. 3.3 Construction. The construction shall conform in.all respects to Drawing 2-2-211 and as specified herein. 3.3.1 Stitches. seams. and stitchiws. 3.3.1.1 Type of stitching. All stitc
23、hing shall conform to FED-STD-751, as follows: a. 24、C b. For overedge stitching on reinforcement - Type 304, 10 to 14 stitches per inch; or type 502 or 503, 6 to 10 stitches per inch. 3.3.1.1.1 Automatic stitching. Any of the stitching operations cited in this document may be performed with an automatic machine provided that the requirements for stit
25、ch pattern, stitches per inch, size and types of thread are met, and that at least three tying, overlapping, or back stitches are used to secure the ends of stitching. 3.3.1.1.2 Lubrication of thread. There shall be no lubrication of the thread prior to or during sewing (see 4.4.1.1). 3.3.1.1.3 Type
26、 301 stitching. Thread breaks in stitching shall be overstitched not less than 1 inch back of the break. Ends of all stitching shall be backstitched or backtacked not less than 1 inch except where ends are caught in other seams and stitching. Thread tensions shall be maintained so that there will be
27、 no loose or tight stitching and the lock will be embedded in the sewn materials. 3.3.1.1.4 veredge stitching Thread breaks and overedge stitching shall - be overstitched not less than 3/4 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching. 3.3.1.2 Trimmi
28、ng. All thread ends shall be trimmed. 3.3.2 Setting of the metallic snap fasteners. Holes punched before inserting the male or female part of the fasteners shall be smaller than the outside diameter of the fastener tubes so that the tubes must be forced through the holes. The fasteners shall be secu
29、rely clinched without cutting the material. 3.4 Marking. The identification marking shall be applied in the location shown on Drawing 2-2-211 and shall conform to type IV, class 5 of DDD-L-20. The letters “US“ shall be applied in the size of characters and in the location indicated on Drawing 2-2-21
30、1 and shall conform to type IV, class 9 of DDD-L-20. Fastness of class 9 marking shall be as specified for class 5 marking . 3.5 Workmanship. The covers shall conform to the quality of product established by this document, and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable qual

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchas
32、e order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified
33、 herein, unless disapproved by the Goverment. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this document where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. if 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All ite
34、ms must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this document shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. absence of any inspection requirements in the document shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring
35、that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. The Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize s
36、ubmission of * 4.1.2 Responsibility for dimensional requirements. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for assuring that all specified dimensions have been met. When dimensions cannot be examined on the end item, inspection shaL1 be made at any
37、point,.or at all points in the manufacturing process necessary to assure compliance with all dimensional requirements. 4.1.3 Certificates of compliance. When certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certificati
