REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first
15、 article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.3). 3.2 Materials and components. The materials and components shall be as specified herein and on Drawing 2-9-284. definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer provided the completed Item complies with all the provisions of
16、this document (see 6.4). Materials and components not 3.2.1 Steel, corrosion-resisting. 3.2.1.1 Sheet and strip. Corrosion-resisting steel sheet and strip for cup, (body and hinge), shall be class 302 or 304 of QQ-S-766. 3.2.1.2 7 Wire. Corrosion-resisting steel wire shall conform to condition B, cl
17、ass 302 or 304, form round, finish cold of QQ-S-763. 3.3 Design and construction. The design and construction of the canteen cup shall conform to Drawing 2-9-284 and the requirements specified herein (see 6.5). 3.3.1 Body. The body of the cup shall be fabricated of the corrosion- resisting steel spe
18、cified in 3.2.1.1 and shall be of seamless construction conforming to the dimensions specified on Drawing 2-9-284. The top edge shall be free of sharp edges, cracks, burrs, slivers, or rough surfaces. After forming, the vertical walls of the body shall have a minimum hardness of 46 on the 30N Rockwe
19、ll scale when tested as specified in 4.5.5. 3.3.2 Handle. The handle shall be fabricated of corrosion-resisting steel specified in 3.2.1.2 and shall be welded in accordance with MIL-W-8611 or MIL-i?-12332. The resistance “TI welds of the handle shall withstand a minimum total force of 235 pounds whe
20、n tested as specified in 4.5.4. The handle shall conform to the design, dimension, and detail requirements of Drawing 2-9-284. The handle shall fit snugly against the cup within 1/8 inch when folded and the right handle shall rest and lock into the left handle when in use. 3 Provided by IHSNot for R

The hinge shall be a close fit to the contour of the body and there shall be no gaps between edge of hinge and body greater than 1/64 inch. * 3.4 Finish. The canteen cup shall be given a uniform frosted lusterless finish approximating a commerc
24、ial 2D sheet finish and passivated in accordance with QQ-P-35. There shall be no evidence of rust, staining, pitting, or spotting when tested as specified in 4.5.6. 3.5 Marking. The letters US, the year of manufacture, and the manufacturers name or trademark shall be stamped on the hinge as shown on
25、 Drawing 2-9-284. 3.6 Workmanship. The finished canteen cup shall be clean and free of any dent or being bsnt out of shape, stain, ripple, fracture, die or draw mark. The handles and hinge shall also be free of any sharp edge, burr, or sliver. Indentation on the inside of cup due to welding of the h
26、inge is acceptable providing the indentation is smooth and free from sharp edges, weld splatter, burr, crack, or burn through area, and does not exceed 0.005 inch in depth. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the Except as otherwise contra

The absence of any inspection requirement in the document shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that
30、 all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective mater

Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for assuring that all specified dimensi
32、ons have been met. When dimensions cannot be examined on the end item, inspection shall be made at any point or at all points in the manufacturing process necessary to assure compliance with all dimensional requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein
33、 are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). . b . Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4 1. 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 6.21, it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 and tested as specified in 4.5.2 through 4.5

36、ination. In-process examination shall be made to establish conformance to the welding on wire handles requirements of Drawing 2-9-284. Whenever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to the applicable process and all items processed. 4.4.2.2 In-process spot or projection weld testing. The
37、 spot or projection weld sample peel test shall be conducted on two test specimens per welding machine rather than sample cups. be performed as specified in 4.5.1 at the start of each days shifts production.
